"We recently stayed at this hotel as a party of five, ranging in age from 13 to 73, and it suited all of us well. There was genuinely something for everyone, making it a great choice for families and mixed-age groups.
Overall, we felt the hotel offered excellent value for money. The food selection was varied, and the all-inclusive package included a good choice of drinks and cocktails. The local beer was particularly enjoyable.
The entertainment was what you would expect from a family-friendly all-inclusive resort, with karaoke, bingo, poolside games, and activities throughout the day. The atmosphere was fun without being overwhelming.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout our stay.
Our room was spacious enough for our needs, and although we were staying all-inclusive, having a kitchenette was still useful. The view from our room wasn’t the best, overlooking a small road and the rear of another hotel, but another room in our party had a lovely pool view.
There were a few areas where improvements could be made. The pool could do with a deeper clean, as there was a green film around the edge which may have been caused by a build-up of sun cream and general use.
We also experienced a minor issue with housekeeping. One day, several toiletries that had been left on the bathroom side disappeared, including face wipes, face cloths and a small toiletries bag. We don’t believe these items were deliberately taken, but they may have been accidentally discarded during cleaning. We mentioned it to reception for information, as it was frustrating to lose items that had been left out for daily use.
Another small downside for us was that the gym doesn’t open until 9am. A few members of our group would have happily used it earlier, particularly around 7am before the day got going. Similarly, coffee as part of the all-inclusive package isn’t available until breakfast service begins. As we had a few early risers in our party, it would have been nice to be able to grab a coffee before breakfast. That said, if you’re not planning an early workout or an early morning coffee, this is unlikely to affect your stay.
It’s worth noting that this is not a luxury five-star hotel, but the price reflects that. If you’re looking for a high-end luxury experience, you would likely need to spend considerably more. For the price paid, we felt the hotel delivered exactly what was promised.
The location is excellent, with the New Town around a 15-minute walk away and the Old Town around 20 minutes on foot. This does mean the hotel may attract groups looking to enjoy the local nightlife. During our stay, there were several groups staying at the hotel, but everyone was respectful and simply enjoying time with friends. We did hear some noise from a neighbouring room in the early hours on one occasion, but it was limited to conversation rather than disruptive behaviour. As with any hotel, your experience may depend on who happens to be staying nearby.
We only visited the Old Town once during our five-day stay, spending most of our time relaxing by the pool, which was exactly what we wanted. Overall, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a well-located, good-value base for a holiday in Albufeira."
