"I can honestly say I have never written such a long and negative review but I think it is important to give my honest view.
Very disappointed with my stay at Eurostars Queen of Montenegro due to the appalling food. It was not only totally unappealing, every meal was cold. Food is a massive part of a good holiday and I have to say out of a total of 20 meals, I only found 1 to be acceptable (to me at least). Needless to say I complained to the Food and Beverage Manager at reception, as did many others. My particular complaint was that the fish was hard and the roast chicken dry and cold. Her response was "I had the chicken at 7 p.m. and mine was fine". Another guest who is in the food and beverage industry complained that the food was cold and not probed therefore it was a health hazard. Nothing really changed at all (re food temperature and quality) until the last day by which time it was too late for me.
Breakfasts consisted of runny, wet, cold scrambled egg and fried eggs, sausages that looked like they had come from a jar, insipid looking bacon, two jars of raw porridge oats, 1 of cornflakes and 1 of cheap muesli (no nuts and seeds. Prunes were available on day 1 only and then finally days 7 there were nuts (almonds and hazelnuts and prunes). One day there was no cloth for people cutting the bread.
I complained to ?Igor the F & B Manager? who told me not to worry. 10 Minutes later no cloth. I was cross and he told me to chill. A cloth then did appear.
For lunch and dinner apart from the main dishes, there were around 5 bowls of different concoctions totally unlabelled. One of the bowls was a crushed peanut salad - I can only imagine what would have happened if someone with a peanut allergy had tried it. Another lady was a vegetarian and unwittingly ate one of these concoctions that contained meat. Very little choice for desert apart from sponge and cream based ones - no ice cream.
On a positive note most of the staff were lovely. A special shout out to the lovely Paula who was great at meal times. She even brought the chef out to meet me who then cooked me an omelette.
The bar staff too (especially George and the two lovely girls) did their best under difficult circumstances. Staples such as beer, vodka and aperol would run out and there would be a gap until they were replaced. Not really being a drinker it didn't affect me but others were pretty upset.
The beach is not a private beach and there is no bar for the hotel down there. The beach is reached by some very uneven steps and a rickety bridge. This hotel is certainly not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
There is a mini bar but with no price list (just a QR code that I hadn't noticed). One would think that all inclusive meant the mini bar - it didn't!!
The indoor pool, while lovely, is not heated as advertised.
I did enjoy the sauna and steam room.
Guests were given glass bottles of water and a lot of drinks were served in real glasses. If any of these had broken around the pool it could have been extremely dangerous
My room had a great sea view so nothing to report there except no bath mat on one occasion which was a bit dangerous with water on the floor after a shower. And no hand towels another day.
I could go on but if you've got this far, you have probably read enough to form an opinion.
Would I return: NO."
