Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Resort & Spa

"We were apprehensive in coming to this hotel due to a lot of reviewers not staying here for as long as we were planning. However, I can happily say that this hotel is one of the best I have stayed at on my travels. We stayed here for 2 weeks, all inclusive. The food was incredible. Every night there was a different cuisine, whether that was Italian, moroccan, Cantonese, Mexican, there were so many options you'd leave with a full and happy tummy. There were plainer options such as chips, pizza, chicken nuggets available most nights and lunchtimes. There was an array of salads, mixed and separate. And the same with desserts. Our personal favourite were the fried donut looking things with honey and caramel sauce, a must try! We only went to breakfast twice during our stay as we like to sleep in, however it was good. There weren't as many hot options for breakfast as I would like. There's a lot of party, cereal and breads. I do wish they had a late night snack bar as we got quite hungry later at night. All inclusive drinks were great, a good variety. They obviously tasted different being in a different country but just as good. Coke, sprite, Fanta, orange juice, cocktails, vodka coke, cappuccino etc. Alcoholic beverages were a bit strong but I just asked for a small amount of alcohol in mine and the staff were happy to oblige. The staff were fantastic. Very attentive, worked hard to keep the hotel clean. That's restaurants, rooms, bars, pool area etc. They were great without a tip, but we tipped because of how good their service was. The pool team especially worked hard day and night with cleaning and helping with umbrellas. The animation team were top tier. Working hard to keep guests entertained, pool games, darts, dancing, traditional Moroccan tagine making. And the night time entertainment was just as good, full productions and game nights before the main shows. They made our holiday more fun than it would've been just us two. Special mention to Oussama and Yahya and Simo as they were especially attentive and talkative to us as a couple. Only problem we had was that there were a lot of French guests staying at the hotel and the staff were more inclined to speak French (understandable with it being their second language) however, it made us feel slightly out of the loop at times as English wasn't used as much as we would have liked. Perhaps more into summer with more English guests it might be used more. The rooms were spacious. We had a bedroom, bathroom, toilet, living room and two balconies. Lots of storage too. The cleaners were amazing. Every time we wanted our room cleaned, we'd come back to clean floors, new bedding and the bins emptied. They also cleared up any rubbish just left in the room. The hotel is right in the middle of agadir and has easy access to the beach, which was beautiful. We felt very safe walking around during the day and the evenings/night. Lots of waves on the beach but lifeguards are always about. There is a taxi rank right outside the hotel, we asked for the price of wherever we were going before we got into the taxi as we heard they can rip you off. Or if you're not comfortable with it, on one occasion we asked the doorman to get us a taxo which he did with no problem, however it was more expensive. We recommend always carrying cash with you, there is a cash machine inside the hotel which we used. The exchange rate is was great on there. We booked a few trips during our stay Paradise beach Marrakech Mini sahara tour All picked up up from the hotel with no problem We also did a trip to the Medina which was beautiful and we recommend going to, as well as to the souk in agadir. The hotel itself has a small souk next door and a few shops a short walk away. Lots of restaurants available along the promenade if you don't fancy eating at the hotel. There are lots of cats/kittens about, but they're all very friendly. They don't harass you for food or jump up on tables. They mostly sleep around the pool and in the lobby, very well taken care of which we liked to see and we heard they are also vaccinated. The staff get on well with them and clearly take care of them as there were food bowls and water left out for them. Overall a great stay, we would love to return here in the future. 11/10 ♥️♥️"

"If you are French this is the place for you. If you are English avoid. All of the entertainment is only in French. Even after asking the entertainment team if they could include English after they had spoken in French we were ignored. After the entertainment staff made a point of pointing at us and shrugging their shoulders. During the day they did speak sometimes in English but not very often. We felt completely left out of everything. Bar staff are very miserable unless you tip them. They do work hard but a smile would not hurt. Lots of cats around that seem well looked after. We were in block 4 and the room was very nice and cleaned every day. The towels are a dull grey colour that need a very hot wash. The lights are hard to work out. But the cleaners do an amazing job but when I have walked past a room I have seen them leaving the doors wide open and unattended with the cleaners chatting further down the corridor. Ensure to use the safe which is included and no extra cost. The pool is lovely and clean with plenty of sun loungers. The food is ok for an all inclusive but for picky eaters there is a McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC next door. Snack bar is very poor and not much choice. You can use 1 of the onsite restaurants free of charge. Reception staff are hit and miss with being helpful. Some are great others not so. Unfortunately in this hotel you would never know you was in Morocco. You would think you was in France"

"Hotel itself is okay. Most of staff are friendly. Rooms are decent. We did have to report broken bathroom door which was fixed the same day and we reported ants all over our balcony. They were running all over the floor, round door edges and all over the walls ~ that problem did not get fixed. Entertainment is poor and always only in French! We have spoken to entertainment staff as well as reception and our jet2 rep who also said he would speak to the hotel about it as we are unable to join in as we cannot understand anything. There was a Moroccan celebration last night but we were unable to appreciate it as we had no clue what they were talking about, despite asking them several times to share information in English they said the odd word but then it went back to French. The pool is cleaned thoroughly every night and morning. Rooms also cleaned every day. Food is okay menus on the day only in French. The trips we have done through GetYourGuide which were multi lingual guides so we were included then. Weather in June has sea mist, where mornings are chilly and very cloudy - we chose to do trips in the morning and by lunchtime it was glorious sunshine and pool time at hotel. Bar staff are miserable and no table service, unless you are French, despite tipping the waiters. Morocco is beautiful - the beach has a private section partitioned off for hotel guests. Snack bar was not to our taste- everything was tasteless. We are glad we visited but won’t be here again. Bring a jacket or jumper for after dinner as when the sun goes down it gets very chilly,"
