"Hotel Suneo Kenzi Europa in Agadir is a reasonably priced family hotel with a strong focus on children’s entertainment. However, after staying here for a week in May 2026, there were several important issues that I feel are overlooked in many reviews.
We arrived at the hotel around 11:00am after an extremely early flight and were told we could not access our room until between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. We were exhausted and effectively had to sit in reception for four hours. We had hoped to be relaxing by the pool by midday, but instead it felt like we lost the first day of our holiday.
The pool and sunbathing area are far too small for the number of guests staying at the hotel. By 9:30am it was virtually impossible to get a sun lounger. I imagine this problem becomes even worse during the peak summer months of July and August. Even when you do manage to get a lounger, they are packed extremely close together with very little personal space. There are additional loungers on the grass near the pool, but large trees block much of the sunlight and these spots are also taken very early.
The music around the pool is very loud, mainly electro-style dance music, playing from around 11:00am until 5:00pm every day. We had a ground floor room near the pool and there was no escape from the constant noise. After complaints about the noise we changed rooms to the 6th floor which was better.
The gym itself is decent, but there is no air conditioning, no towels, no water station and no cleaning materials to wipe down equipment after use. Because there is no air conditioning, working out becomes extremely sweaty and uncomfortable therefore cleaning materials are vital for good hygiene. The gym is also closed on Sundays and during some holiday periods, meaning it was unavailable for 3 days during our 7-day stay. As the gym is unmanned anyway, this made little sense. There is also no mention of these closures on the TUI website, despite the gym being one of the reasons we chose this hotel.
The free WiFi was unreliable throughout our stay. Since Morocco is outside standard UK data roaming areas, using mobile data with providers such as O2 can become very expensive. We instead purchased a Holafly eSIM with unlimited data for 8 days at a cost of £23.75, which worked perfectly for us.
We also had ongoing issues trying to exchange beach towels. Every day we were either told to “come back tomorrow” or informed that there were no fresh towels available so we had to keep the same beach towels all week.
We spent each day on the beach which is a few minutes walk across the road and through the Souk. There are no toilet facilities at the beach and no beach bar so you cannot get a drink.
Another major issue was the outdoor snack bar area near the pool, which was full of wasps. If you wanted a drink, you often had to swat wasps away from the taps first while trying not to get stung. If you dislike wasps, you will probably find this area unbearable.
Overall, the hotel is probably best suited to young families who can tolerate the noise, crowds and general lack of relaxation. In my opinion, it is not ideal for older guests or anyone looking for a peaceful holiday.
We did not receive any SMS from TUI detailing time of the airport transfer and the TUI rep wouldn’t speak to us as he was too busy organising trips for holidaymakers. There is a big notice board - put out a transfer bulletin then there is no need to be left wondering if and when you would get the transfer information.
And finally - TUI state on the app that they will send an SMS with transfer details to Agadir airport. Nothing has been received and there was no rep to ask. This is not acceptable and very unprofessional when we totally rely on TUI for this information.
The rooms are nice but definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.
We certainly won’t be returning, especially as there appear to be other nearby hotels with far fewer of these issues."
