"We had an outstanding stay and would gladly return. The hotel is beautifully maintained, ideally located, and within walking distance of Florence's major attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. Being the only hotel situated directly on the banks of the Arno River makes the setting even more special. To top it off, the hotel surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more memorable.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. The level of hospitality was among the best we have experienced. One moment in particular stood out. My wife was not feeling well and was hoping for a banana to settle her stomach. Although the hotel did not have any on hand, the team actually went out and purchased a few for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture and perfectly reflected their commitment to guest service.
The manager, Guido B., was equally exceptional. He hosted complimentary happy hours during our stay, took the time to chat with guests, shared stories about Florence, and created a wonderful atmosphere. In another thoughtful gesture, he personally brought us chips being served because he thought we would enjoy them. It is those small, genuine touches that transform a great hotel into a truly memorable one.
Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. Guests also have access to breakfast at the hotel's sister property, which offers even more variety. That said, we actually preferred the breakfast at this hotel... it was exceptional. The hotel also features the beautiful Picteau Bistro & Bar, named after Picasso and Cocteau, reflecting the artistic heritage of the space. It is a great place to enjoy an afternoon aperitivo or unwind with a cocktail after a day of exploring Florence. The atmosphere, service, and views of the Arno River make it a destination in itself..
The only minor issue during our stay was the air conditioning, which occasionally didn't cool the room as effectively as the thermostat indicated. It was a small inconvenience and certainly didn't detract from an otherwise outstanding stay. If I were to suggest one area for improvement, it would be the concierge service prior to arrival. While the concierge team was extremely attentive and helpful once we arrived, a more personalized and proactive approach during the planning stage - rather than relying on more standard recommendations - would make the experience even better.
As an added bonus, the hotel is part of the Ferragamo family, and guests receive a 10% discount at the Ferragamo flagship store in Florence, a wonderful perk if you are planning a little shopping.
Overall, this is a truly exceptional hotel. Between the outstanding service, beautiful property, unbeatable location, and countless thoughtful touches, it exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Florence."
