"We stayed at this hotel from August 23 to 28. The location is excellent. In a few minutes on foot you are in the historic center of the city and everything is within reach anyway. We arrived in the early afternoon and, contrary to what has always happened to me, they asked us for the balance as soon as we entered the reception.. honestly I have always paid the balance at check-out.. we hadn't even seen the room and they were already asking us for the money. We paid and that's that. We had booked a triple and a quadruple junior suite. The rooms were tiny! Our quadruple room had a bunk bed that was a sofa bed (and this was written in the quote..) but it didn't say that the bottom bed was practically on the floor! The "double" room was tiny.. the bed was not a standard double bed but a full-size bed, so much so that the two pillows placed next to each other didn't fit.. one was hanging off the bed! On one side of the bed there was no nightstand.. if you wanted to keep some water next to you at night or charge your phone, you couldn't. In both rooms there were a total of 3 power outlets.. one of which was behind a small desk, which you had to move to plug in the cord. We had a two-door closet in the quadruple room (and a part above that was practically unusable because of how high it was).. while the other room, which was for 3 people, had three doors… so the rooms were already small, plus you had suitcases in the way because the things for 4 people wouldn't fit in the closet!
When you took a shower, half the bathroom would flood.. because the glass panels didn't close well and so you had to put half the towels on the floor to soak it up and avoid slipping! Luckily we had paid for a junior suite.. otherwise I don't know what they would have given us! If I had known the ridiculous size of the room, I would have booked two doubles! Breakfast was served on the fourth floor, with a view of all the uneven rooftops of the city but with a beautiful glimpse of the sea, very pleasant I must say! Lots of things to choose from, the usual mini croissants (warm and very good), delicious pasticciotti leccesi, cookies, cold cuts, bread for toasting, hard-boiled eggs, fruit salad, fresh fruit, taralli, cereal, milk, juices.. let's say there was a bit of everything. At first glance the quantities seemed small because the space is actually small, but I must say that it was always well-stocked, as soon as something ran out it was immediately replaced! A few weeks before our stay we had reserved the garage, 20 euros per day! In the reservation, it was written that there would be a valet who would take the car and bring it to the garage.. but we didn't think that we wouldn't be free to take the car during the day anymore! Already by the second day, they were scolding us, saying that once we left in the morning, we could only put the car back in the garage once a day. So if we returned from the beach at 5:00 PM and had to take the car out again in the evening, we had to start looking for a spot outside, hoping to find one that wasn't paid; in the worst-case scenario, we had to put it in a blue zone and pay for parking, even though we had already given them a good 20 euros a day! While we were out, they would send us messages, and if we didn't read them, they would call us to find out what time we were returning to the hotel for the garage; in the morning, as soon as they saw us, they would ask us what time we were returning! Basically, we had to tell them all our plans, even if maybe at 8:00 in the morning we didn't even know what we were doing ourselves!! In the evening when you returned, they wanted to know what time they had to bring the cars out.. you would tell them 8:30, and they would bring it to you at 8:50 because they didn't know where to park them outside.. so we would stand there outside waiting! The third day, my cousin found a scratch on the mirror, and upon our return, we told the girl at the reception that, given the damage found, we would no longer use the garage.. and coincidentally, no one batted an eye! No one apologized, no one said "but look, it's not possible that you found the scratch because of us because we are super careful".. NOTHING! The girl just said "okay"! They had already taken the money for the following days anyway, they just had two fewer cars to put inside. If you returned during the day, no one at the reception would say good morning or good evening to you.. you had to greet them first, then they would respond! Let's just say that we were very, very, very disappointed with a 4-star hotel!"
