Hotel Primavera

"Hotel Primavera is a good 3 star hotel in the pedestrian district of Stresa. We had a good 5 nights stay there. The room was spacious by European standards, it had a balcony big enough for 2 chairs, a kettle (but no teas or coffees were provided), and an empty mini fridge. The bathroom had apparently been recently redecorated and was nice. There have been some negative comments about the breakfast, but we found it to be good for a 3 star hotel. Sure, the "orange juice" was made from concentrate and was about 90 % water and there was rationing with croissants - one per person - but otherwise the buffet contained everything you can sensibly expect. There were 3 different kinds of cold cuts, 3 cheeses, lots of cereals, different breads, jams etc. You did not need to leave the breakfast table hungry. Overall the hotel provided good value for money and we would happily stay there again."

"Avoid like the plague! After checking in there was a damp mouldy smell from the lift up until our room which was already a bit sus. My partner went to bed early while I showered. Upon getting into the warmed up bed we spotted something on the pillow. Bed bug!! Big juicy bed bug. Turned the light on and we found 4 or 5 more.. even on the walls. We was too horrified to even attempt to pull back the sheets. We packed our bags and left straight away. Reception appeared confused/unfazed and kept checking the photos we took as if it was fabricated, as if they wasn't aware of a complete infestation. Not even an apology, They offered us another room but in this scenario it probably means the whole hotel is infested. we requested a refund instead and gtfo of there. To be fair they gave a refund instantly, maybe due to me being able to speak italian. Had a non native speaker tried to explain the situation they might have been more hesitant to issue the refund. I'm embarrassed and ashamed of finding such an awful hotel in my home country."

"The total experience was terrible. We booked and paid for 2 rooms on booking.com, but on check-in hotel manager told us that he doesn't have 2 rooms, he has only 1 (EVEN IT WAS CONFIRMED BY BOOKING FOR 2 ROOMS). He told that he can give instead of the second room, some apartment near by. When we said that we are here for business trip and need to wakeup very early for work he told its not his problem and we must to accept some apartment. We said that we are going to complain for booking.com, he told nobody will care about your complain especially with your passports (Russian, Moldova and Indian). Since it was a night, we did not have any choice, but do not recommend this hotel for people who are planing trip there. "
