"Only stayed here for 1 night but had a lovely stay at the newly opened Lake Como Edition hotel! On our arrival day unfortunately our room wasn't ready upon arrival and we had to wait longer than I'd hoped (I don't think the hotel was at capacity...). They said we could wait in the lounge/bar area and provided a complimentary mocktail and told us they'd come get us or text us when the room was ready. But like 2 hours later when we still hadn't heard from anyone, I finally got up and went back to the front desk to check, and was told the room was ready and they'd tried to call me (they didn't...I had my phone on the entire time). Not sure why they didn't come find us in the room nextdoor, that would've been appreciated. So not exactly the smoothest welcome but at least the lounge/bar area is nice.
Sadly the weather was rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor pool (major bummer), but luckily the spa pool are is open to everyone even if you don't have a spa service, so we were able to spend a few hours hanging out there. I ended up scheduling a facial last minute for the next day before departing, and it was a fabulous facial (not typically a huge fan of them).
I had noted it was a special occasion and was hoping for a room upgrade from the basic room i'd booked, but unfortunately that upgrade was not granted. They did however have a heart balloon in our room, and brought up a plate of macarons (I think these were moreso because it was mother's day).
The design of the hotel is lovely, though getting around (from the lobby to the room to the spa/gym area) is a bit convoluted and confusing at first, but that tracks for an old European redesigned building(s). The room itself was small (especially with all our luggage) but decent enough and definitely stylish. Lovely bathroom too, though figuring out the shower was really confusing (they even have printed instructions but it still was hard to figure out!).
Food was great; we had dinner at the hotel 1 night and breakfast in the morning before departing. Really enjoyed both meals. Both are on the lake side of the building so if you're tall enough, you get a nice view of the lake. It's not a breakfast buffet but you can order all that you want from the menu which is awesome--do not skip the French toast, it was one of (if not the) best French toast we've ever had.
I wish we'd had more time here but we got a brief taste of this hotel in case we want to return down the line! I don't think the location is the most ideal TBH, not that I'm an expert on Como by any means, but it didn't seem like there was very much in walking distance of this hotel and you probably need to drive/ferry to nearby towns for more exploring. But happy to have a Marriott/points property in the area now that it's open!"
