"A superb holiday in a beautiful setting! My wife and I visited with our two boys (aged 9 & 11) sharing a family room and my wife’s parents also can having a separate room elsewhere in the hotel. We spent 10 brilliant nights at Kassandra Bay Resort (KBR) on Bed & Breakfast.
Bottom Line Up Front. We loved it. A beautiful setting with great staff, food, and superb links into Skiathos town. We’ve already booked for next year!

Setting. The hotel provided gorgeous sea views out towards Skopelos island and also Skiathos town. It is next to the main road of the island but it really isn’t busy and did not impact us at all. Yes, there was some minor road noise occasionally but we sat on our huge balcony a few nights and it didn’t impact us at all - plus it provided excellent access to the bus route to get around the island. Buses run every 15mins or so in both directions and take about 10mins to get to town, costing about €2.20 per adult. There is also a water taxi which runs regularly from the pontoon at the beach to the town with is €4 per adult and €1 for under 10s but that drops you right on the old harbour (where the taxi race to the boat is filmed in Mamma Mia). In short, it was stunning.
Hotel. It is beautifully presented and despite being a hotel, you never feel crowded smd it never really felt commercial. The whole place is very aesthetically pleasing with lovely stone work all over the place. There are two nice, but basic, saltwater pools but the pool areas are very nice and there are plenty of sun beds. The restaurants and bar are perfectly situated with great views and easy access from the main areas of the hotel. The beach is a real highlight- crystal clear water, comfy sun beds and staff on hand to bring refreshments whenever you need them.
Rooms. We had a two bed family room and we can’t fault it; in fact it is probably the best family room we’ve ever stayed in! Two bathrooms, separate bedrooms and a huge balcony with gorgeous views. A point to consider is that the children’s beds were near the door and the kingsize could be separated by a door and provided the access to the balcony. The main door has a deadlock and the hotel felt super safe so we were fine with it (and can be helicopter parents…). It’s also worth saying my in-laws didn’t get a great view initially, but the hotel were really helpful and moved them as soon as they could.
Staff. Good staff often make or break holidays, and the KBR team were very good. Some were better than others, but all were very helpful. Breakfast was initially a bit sub-par for clearing etc, but that was rapidly sorted (probably early season kinks) but everyone was lovely. Shout outs deserved for Stefanos, the manager who was so helpful with booking a hire car and generally being great. Also, Lambros who is excellent! He was the waiter on the beach and was so helpful, polite and we loved his professionalism in keeping the beach clean. Arati in the restaurant was so cheerful - to be honest, they all were.
Food & Drink. I’ll start by saying I thought it was a bit expensive, until we went and ate in town and then it’s evident it’s on par and the food was excellent at the hotel - don’t miss eating here! The drinks are more pricey but not extortionate and are served to your sun-bed if you want. Great selection and happy hour is 3pm-6pm which we enjoyed most days! Also look out for the nights in the fancy restaurant where you get a free bottle of wine per room.
Activities. Our boys are pretty good at finding fun themselves and the snorkelling and sea were great for them. There is a water sports business, Stefonas Ski Hire, right next to the hotel which we used to hire a boat for the day - highly recommended - and also we went on a sofa thing and the boys had a SUP too.
Put simply, we loved it!"
