"Amazing 6-Night Stay — Honest Review & Things to Know!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 6 nights for my birthday, and honestly, we had an amazing time! I’d give the hotel 4/5 overall and would definitely return. For the price we paid through EasyJet, I genuinely don’t think you’ll find much better.
Arrival & rooms: We arrived after midnight and, as the restaurant was closed, the hotel kindly offered us sandwiches, which was such a lovely gesture. Our AC wasn’t working when we arrived, so we were moved into a premium room in Block 5, which was beautiful. We later moved to our actual room in Block 6. Although it wasn’t as luxurious, we actually preferred the space, balcony and peacefulness of Block 6.
One thing to note: our “double room” had two single beds, which constantly moved apart during the night! Either me or my boyfriend would end up falling into the gap 😂. If you’re booking a double room, I’d definitely ask whether a proper double bed is available.
Also, the balconies aren’t particularly private, so you can see other guests and vice versa. Definitely close your blinds when changing. I’d also love a swim-up room next time, but be aware that they aren’t as private as you might expect.
Pools & Marrakech area: We spent 3 out of our 6 days mainly in the Marrakech adults-only area and honestly, it was the BEST decision. It was peaceful, relaxing and never felt chaotic. We swam every day, had drinks, shisha and snacks, and just enjoyed ourselves. If you’re a couple, I’d highly recommend spending some time there. The manager there was amazing and treated us like royalty, thank you. Tuesday’s fire night was one of my favourites — everyone was involved and the atmosphere was brilliant. The waterpark was also hilarious even as adults 😂. I screamed so loudly on the slide that I had children laughing at me!
Food: We genuinely never went hungry. If we did, we’d go onto the Faliraki strip and eat food from King and Queens. The food changes every day and there are options for vegetarians, pescatarians, meat eaters, etc. The themed nights were a highlight, especially the romantic night. The lamb chops/ribs were incredible!
There was only one lunchtime where the food was cold, but every other meal made up for it. If you don’t eat pork, just be aware that some main dishes contain pork, although there are always alternatives such as chicken, fish and vegetables.
IMPORTANT: it is NOT 24-hour all-inclusive. Food finishes around 9:30pm and the snack bar closes around 5pm. If you arrive late or get hungry later at night, you may need to eat on the strip or bring some food with you. I think an “all-inclusive plus” option with 24-hour food would be amazing, especially because many UK transfers arrive late.
Drinks are also quite limited and can be watered down/very icy. You can always ask for a shot of your preferred spirit to add to your drink. Slushies and some snacks such as nachos are also extra.
Location: Although the hotel says Faliraki, it’s around a 20-minute walk down a fairly steep hill. Or a 5 minute car drive. We never walked it and usually got a taxi , which was around €11 by card or €10 cash.
There’s also a free shuttle to the beach and a bus to Old Town. Unfortunately, on our final night, we waited around 1.5 hours with 9 other guests for the Old Town bus, only for it never to arrive. Nobody informed us it wasn’t coming, which was frustrating. We were told the shuttle was €2.50 each way. My advice: if the bus is more than 10 minutes late, don’t keep waiting — it may simply not be coming.
On our transfer from the airport we were the 2nd stop which was about 30-40 minutes ride which wasn’t an issue.
Things to know: The heat is SERIOUS 😂. Around 35°C, especially from morning until around 4pm. Mosquitoes were also an issue for me personally — I was bitten badly and left with scars although my boyfriend wasn’t so maybe the hotel can use some mosquitoe repellent around the resort to ensure guests are safe or as guests, if you know you’re prone to bites please wear some repellent.
Wi-Fi is also weaker away from the main pool, so I relied on mobile data quite a lot.
Towels need to be rented separately (around €15–€20, although I can’t remember the exact amount), so bring your own if you can. You can’t use the room towels around the pool.
The resort is family-friendly and there were children from very young ages upwards, but even during school holidays, we never felt overwhelmed by children. The adults-only Marrakech area was perfect for getting some peace. Entertainment can be loud, particularly around Block 5, and can continue until around 11pm, so keep this in mind if you have young children, an early excursion or want an early night. Block 6 was much quieter for us. The children were always entertained from when we walked past to collect drinks as there was always some sort of disco, foam party, aerobics going on near the main pool. So I’m sure your children won’t get bored.
THE STAFF ❤️: This honestly deserves its own section. Every member of staff we encountered was welcoming, smiling and helpful. Alex and Ervin on the night reception shift were AMAZING and genuinely became our best friends during the trip 😂. They deserve a pay rise! The evening bar lady was also so lovely, always making us laugh and making our drinks with a smile despite the heat. Our Block 6 cleaner was fantastic too — despite speaking very little English, she was always smiling and never complained.
The entertainment team also did a great job keeping everyone involved.
As a young Black couple, something we really value when travelling is feeling welcomed and comfortable. We experienced no racism, uncomfortable looks or comments whatsoever. From the staff to other guests, everyone was lovely, and that genuinely made our stay even better. We were the only black people for the first few days but it was never an issue as we were welcomed.
We met some amazing people, made great memories and took so many photos that we’ll cherish. You can see some of them in our TripAdvisor photos. If you made it this far and recognise me (yes I am the girl who went onto the stage and started dancing 😂😂)
Overall: 4/5 ⭐️
There are definitely things that could be improved, but for the price, the experience was fantastic. It was clean, aesthetically pleasing, fun and welcoming. We had such a good birthday trip and I would absolutely return in the future.
If you’re considering booking — DO IT. Just take the tips above into account and you’ll have an amazing stay! ❤️"
