"An honest review of our 7 night stay at the Oneiro boutique in tigaki kos. We booked this hotel through a package on easyJet bed and breakfast, and it cost just under £800pp for the week. We would say this is good value for money for the location, standard and quality of the hotel.
Rooms - our room was a standard room, and we got a balcony overlooking the street (room 105),the room was spacious with a double bled, and built in wardrobes. Apart from this the rest of the room was pretty basic, which was okay for us, however we would’ve liked more storage for clothes and shoes as it was pretty limited. Our wardrobe doors were slightly dodgy which was a bit of a pain but it was okay. There was a safe in the wardrobe which was free of charge which was nice and ensured we could keep our belongings safe for the week. The air con in the room was okay and free of charge throughout however was super noisy! The bathroom was a good size with a large mirror and a nice open shower. There was a hairdryer in the room that worked okay, however would recommend bringing your own! The towels in the room were replaced every 3 days by the cleaners. After a long day in the sun and the beach, a fresh towel would’ve been nice, which you could request at reception and they were happy to replace these for you. The balcony was a good size, with a table and 2 chairs. We had a slight sea view from the balcony which was a nice, and a nice backdrop of the mountains and tigaki centre. The tea and coffee making facilities were okay, however we had to ask when we ran out for these to be replaced and they do not provide any milk sachets, we had to buy milk from the shop. The beds were comfortable and there were spare blankets and pillows in the wardrobe if you needed them.
The cleaners who visited the room every day, made the beds lovely and laid out our pyjamas, which was a nice touch, there were fresh toilet rolls out and the cigarette tray was emptied on the balcony. However the mugs for tea and coffee weren’t always replaced, the balcony had coffee stains on before our arrival which remained throughout our stay, and the floor in the hotel was not swept once during our stay. This slightly let the hotel down for us which was a shame as this was our biggest concern. During a week’s stay it would’ve been nice to feel like the room was kept on top of… especially in a four star hotel. The rest of the hotel was well maintained, corridors were clean and tidy, reception was spotless and the pool area was clean and tidy.
The staff - all the staff who we had contact with during our stay were lovely. The staff on reception were super attentive and polite. The manager who welcomed us into the hotel was great, and he always made and effort to ensure we were happy throughout our stay. There was a lady on reception who we saw every day, she was so kind and always said hello to us when we were leaving and returning to the hotel. The cleaners we saw in the mornings always said hello as well. This made the hotel feel welcoming throughout.
The pool area was lovely, with enough sun beds. We never once saw sun-beds reserved during the mornings which was nice to see! We didn’t actually have a day around the pool as beach is our preference however it was always a lovely atmosphere whenever we walked past this. The pool area was clean and tidy, the trees and hedges were definitely overgrown but that didn’t effect us or our stay once.
Breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast every morning - and for us there was enough choice. However the breakfast selection was limited, there was a very small selection of parties, yoghurt, a couple of cereals and a small hot food area. There was also a small selection of meats and cheeses. There was definitely a wide range of food however we understand why some people may not feel there was a big enough selection. There were also days where some of the juice machines weren’t working etc which wasn’t great. The coffee was nice at breakfast and the breakfast area was lovely to sit in the morning. The restraint offers a 10% discount to bed and breakfast guests on evening meals which is a nice touch, we didn’t opt to use this restaurant however the menu and food did look delicious - it was always super busy."
