"DO NOT COME TO THE NOVERIAN SCENIC!!!!! Surly receptionist (it was the same lady every time). On arrival hardly spoke, dumped us outside the villa with no information about facilities (not that it would have mattered - more on that below). No staff to assist with luggage - not exactly 5* that. After getting in realised the furnishings were VERY dated, and some also very dirty. Not at all welcoming as no decor e.g. pictures, rugs etc. Following day realised 1) TV didn't work - no satellite/ariel 2) crockery was mix and match, only 1 cereal bowl 3) external doors didn't close properly. Internal doors warped so wouldn't shut. 4) sunbeds filthy, and one broken 5) sunbed cushions filthy including bird excrement 6) Sun umbrella not fit for purpose. 7) oven not working - had to find out for ourselves the fuse was down 8) several holes/bangs in walls that had been badly repaired 9) door handle to leave not secured and fell off continually 10) towels for pool use ripped Other than that fantastic ;) Approaching the weekend we were informed there were 2 weddings that would continue until 4am, very noisy as a result and difficult to sleep. This also resulted in a closure of the bar and restaurant. Spa - nonexistent. Although you could ring for a massage After 4 nights we attempted to cancel the rest of our stay, the hotel however were immovable on a refund. Such a shame with better management I'm sure it could be returned to former glories. Views from here were stunning"

"We had correspondingly high expectations for our stay in a 5-star hotel – unfortunately, almost none of them were met. From our perspective, there is not much to be seen of the promised 5-star standard here. The room was already in an absolutely unacceptable condition upon our arrival. There were black hairs everywhere: on the floor, in the closet, and in the bathroom. The shower was particularly unhygienic: There were also hairs there that looked to us like residue from a shave by the previous guest. In addition, black residue could be seen in the grout of the shower. The shower head also sprayed in all directions – just not where the water was actually supposed to go. Because of this, a proper shower was hardly possible. The overall condition was so unpleasant and unhygienic that we did not even want to unpack our suitcases at first. Even during our stay, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. On some days, no cleaning took place at all. When cleaning did happen, it was apparently only done very superficially. The black hairs and other dirt were still present in some places even after cleaning. It was also particularly annoying that after cleaning, towels were sometimes missing and you had to take care of getting replacements yourself. Used dishes are washed, but it does not give the impression that they are being cleaned sufficiently or hygienically. There were also significant defects in the kitchen: Dirty baking sheets and a soiled pan were apparently just hidden in the oven instead of cleaning them properly – see the attached picture for this. It is even more incomprehensible that several basic pieces of equipment do not work. The oven, the stove, and the range hood were not functional. In addition, there was no remote control for the television. For accommodation that advertises a 5-star standard, functional basic equipment should actually be a matter of course. The condition of the toilet brush was also particularly questionable, as it looked like it had not been replaced in ages. Additionally, you have to take care of organizing new toilet paper yourself. It is simply absurd that guests in an alleged 5-star hotel have to hunt for basic things like toilet paper themselves. The pool area – anything but 5 stars Unfortunately, the pool area also does not convey the impression of a high-quality resort. All the lighting around the pool was broken. Especially in the evening hours, the facility therefore appears correspondingly unkempt and not very inviting. In addition, the pool area was partially significantly dirty. Plastic cups were lying around and ashtrays were apparently not emptied regularly, so cigarette butts collected in them. For us, it is incomprehensible how a pool area of a 5-star hotel can be neglected to such an extent. Furthermore, the pool is apparently also used by people who are not hotel guests. This creates more of a feeling of visiting a public swimming pool rather than spending an exclusive and relaxing hotel vacation. It is especially annoying when you have paid a four-figure amount for the stay. The location of the property and the view are indeed beautiful, but unfortunately, that cannot even begin to compensate for the numerous negative points. The entire hotel complex appears significantly aged and worn down in many places. We would have expected a completely different standard from a high-quality and well-maintained 5-star resort. The breakfast was also disappointing and by no means at the level of a 5-star hotel. The breads were often dry, and with the fruit, there was sometimes the impression that it was already from the previous day. Overall, the breakfast was average at best and far from what one should expect in this hotel category. However, we would like to highlight the two ladies who worked at breakfast and at the pool as a positive. Both were always friendly, nice, and helpful. They were among the few truly positive impressions during our stay and, of course, cannot be blamed for the many organizational and hygienic shortcomings of the accommodation. Our conclusion: A beautiful location and a good view are not enough to compensate for the serious shortcomings in cleanliness, hygiene, service, equipment, and the condition of the facility. The cleaning that was sometimes missing for days, hair and dirt in the room and in the shower, the completely unusable shower head, missing towels after cleaning, defective appliances, an unkempt and dirty pool area, as well as the defective lighting, in our view, in no way meet the expected standard of a 5-star hotel. For the price paid, the price-performance ratio is, in our view, absolutely disappointing. Anyone expecting a true 5-star standard and a relaxing luxury vacation should significantly lower their expectations here."
