"We stayed at Elios Hill in Crete for 7 nights as a group of 8, made up of two families with children aged 8 and 4. Overall, the resort looks beautiful and has plenty of potential, but unfortunately several aspects of our stay fell short of expectations. The resort itself is very attractive, well maintained, and the pool areas are lovely. The cocktails were a highlight – well made, strong, and enjoyable. The reception and guest relations staff were always friendly and helpful, and the kids’ club was excellent. The team there, particularly Chantal, along with two other ladies with curly blonde hair and long black hair, were fantastic with the children and made a real effort to engage them. They were warm, friendly, and one of the standout parts of our holiday. However, there were a number of disappointing issues. The food was by far the biggest letdown. The buffet lacked variety, with the same dishes appearing repeatedly and no themed evenings to keep things interesting. The quality was consistently poor, to the point that we formally complained during our stay. We also ate outside the resort on three occasions during our seven-night holiday because the food was so disappointing. We managed to try the Mexican à la carte restaurant, but unfortunately that was just as bad as the buffet and offered no improvement. There were also no food options available after 9:30pm, which isn’t ideal for families returning late from excursions. The resort also appeared understaffed at times. For example, there was often only one person making crepes, leading to long queues. On arrival we waited over an hour for towels, and housekeeping was inconsistent. Beds were not always made properly, water wasn’t always replenished, and room amenities were very basic, with no items such as tissues, shower caps, or cotton buds. The minibar contained only water. That said, towels were replaced daily. The rooms themselves were smaller than expected. We booked a two-bedroom room, but it didn’t really feel like a true two-bedroom layout. We were also disturbed by noise from the bar at night, which made it difficult to relax and sleep. Other frustrations included weak coffee throughout the resort and very poor Wi-Fi coverage. Evening entertainment was limited, with the Cloud Bar being the only real option after dark. The resort could benefit from additional evening activities, kiosks, snack stands, or small stalls around the grounds to create more atmosphere. Overall, Elios Hill is a visually appealing resort with excellent staff in certain areas, particularly reception, guest relations, and the kids’ club. However, the poor food quality, lack of dining options, inconsistent housekeeping, small rooms, and weak Wi-Fi meant that it did not deliver the premium all-inclusive experience we were expecting."
