"Firstly the staff were all fantastic and very helpful and friendly apart from the guy who served drinks in the bar by the pool, he was the complete opposite.
So, we paid 7k for a week for a family of 5 through Jet2. I realise Jet2 cream a large profit off the top of the that and as a sidenote, I wouldn't use Jet2 again. Their transfer busses were old and hot and the planes were old too.
Pros- Back to the hotel- the apartment was spacious and very clean, and the cleaning staff did and very good job and were lovely people. The pool was the jewel in the crown and never too busy even on peak times, very family orientated and always free deck chairs. The beach is also a stones throw away.
Cons- The Greece 5 star ratings are obviously different to English ones. This hotel would just about be a 3 star here. The hotel structure is nice but there is no inbuilt Aircon, just Chinese machines dotted around the place so unless you're stood by these, it's very hot and stuffy. The hotel is confused, it offers some rooms as corporate meeting rooms but there weren't any meetings in the time we were there. I got he feeling there wouldn't be many year round. In fact, one conference room I looked in was used as a storage room.
The reason this was an issue, is that there are no indoor facilities for the kids, these rooms could easily have pool tables., table tennis etc but instead they are stagnant. This is a poor commercial decision, either you're a family hotel or you're a corporate one.
The outside children's facilities are very tired, the slide is old, some runs missing on the ladders, when you go into the 'Kids Club's building outside, the young staff don't interact with the kids, maybe they don't speak English. So if you're expecting a Butlins red coat type interactions for your kids, then you'll be disappointed.
They lay on the same young girl's and boys to do entertainment, they try their best, but they don't speak with the kids, their dances are accompanied by very robotic dance routines and they trawl the same mobile speaker around the resort, depending on what they're performing. They say there's a kid's disco every evening but this is essentially a somber young lad with a laptop and a speaker. Again, no Aircon so it's way too hot for the kids, meaning the disco never really happens.
Some of the other entertainment was really good, such as the Greek dancers.
The food and drink were fantastic and that was this hotels saviour, and the pool. Really good healthy food and drinks were generous and not watered down.
The resort advertises two outdoor pools, the main one is great, the second one is the size of an inflatable garden pool. The indoor health resort doesn't permit kids to swim, so when it's 30-40 degrees outside, you'll be a bit stuck, as no indoor activities for kids and no indoor pools.
This hotel needs to invest heavily in Aircon and the children's facilities. They have great foundations, such as the lovely staff but for the money, not worth it. I wouldn't book a package holiday again, I'd book the resort and flights separately, if you get insurance, you're only doing what the package companies do anyway and you'll get a better service for less money.
Hope this helps families who have saved d a small fortune for a holiday."
