"The hotel grounds are huge and beautifully landscaped with palm trees, flowers, and stunning views over the olive groves and the sea. Our child absolutely loved the large swimming pool with the slides and the playground. Our room was spacious enough for three people and had a large bathroom and a big balcony.
The breakfast buffet is mostly the same every day, with the egg dishes being the main variation, but there is something for everyone. The dinner buffet was also good, and the restaurant staff were always very efficient and polite.
Nevertheless, we were disappointed with the level of hospitality, which is not what we have experienced during our previous visits to Crete and other Greek islands.
We arrived around noon, and although check-in was at 3:00 p.m., we appreciated being allowed to leave our luggage at reception and use the pool while we waited. Unfortunately, the pool shower was broken and remained unfixed throughout our stay. There was also only a public toilet available near the reception area, with no proper shower or changing facilities. Since we were traveling with a toddler, we were naturally looking forward to getting into our room at the announced check-in time.
When 3:00 p.m. arrived, our room was still not ready. We were simply asked to wait. After sitting in wet clothes for around 45 minutes, we asked again, only to be told that the receptionist had no information about when the room would be available. No apology or small gesture, such as offering water or refreshment, was made, even though the hotel operates an all-inclusive service and the bar was open. We eventually decided to walk to the supermarket to pass the time.
The room itself was comfortable, although there was an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom.
The evening buffet offered a good variety for adults, but we found the children's options very limited and late. We were told by a waiter that the children's food was "first come, first served," which seemed surprising considering how many families with young children were staying at the hotel.
One evening, we were specifically told that chicken nuggets and fries would be available for children at 7:30 p.m. Another mother and I waited, but even by 8:00 p.m. there was still no children's food available, so I served my child something else. A little later, however, they personally served chicken nuggets and fries to another table with teenagers. When the other mother and I checked the buffet again, there was still no children's meal available for the other families. It appeared that this meal had been prepared only for that specific table, which felt unfair and was genuinely disappointing.
Although the hotel is pleasant and offers good value, it is also starting to show its age in several areas and could benefit from some refurbishment. A little more fairness and equal treatment towards all guests, regardless of their background or nationality, would also be appreciated."
