"Our family recently stayed at Out of the Blue Resort & Spa, and I would like to leave an honest and balanced review.
The hotel’s greatest strengths are undoubtedly its beautiful grounds and the sea. The resort is surrounded by lush gardens that feel like a botanical park, and the private beach is absolutely stunning. The sea is crystal clear, calm, and perfect for families with children. We also appreciated how well the main restaurant was organized. The food was always fresh and tasty, tables were cleaned promptly, and dishes were constantly replenished until the very end of each meal.
Our first room was rather dated, with an unpleasant musty smell, but after we spoke to the reception staff, we were moved to another room and the extra bed for our son was replaced. We were grateful that this issue was resolved quickly.
However, what happened afterwards completely changed our impression of the hotel.
During our stay, my son’s Arena swimming goggles disappeared from the beach. We accepted that these things can happen and did not make a complaint.
A few days later, on 4 August, my son left his original Real Madrid Home Jersey (2024/2025 season) on a chair next to the pool bar while he was swimming. When he returned about three hours later, it had disappeared.
That same evening, at around 7:30 p.m., my son went to reception himself, visibly upset, and explained that we were leaving early the next morning, so this was his only opportunity to ask for help in finding his jersey. He was simply told to come back “tomorrow” or ask at the pool bar, even though he had just explained that this would not be possible.
Since we could no longer follow up in person after checkout, we contacted our tour operator, who sent a written request to the hotel on the morning of 5 August, shortly before our departure. Later that same day, on 5 August, we received a brief reply:
“We have checked with our Lost & Found Department, but unfortunately nothing was found. We are sorry about that.”
That was the entire response. It did not explain what actions had been taken beyond checking the Lost & Found Department. We were not informed whether the pool bar staff or housekeeping had been asked, whether the area had been searched thoroughly, or whether any additional steps had been taken to investigate the situation.
What disappointed us most was not the loss of the jersey, but the lack of genuine engagement with the situation. We had hoped to feel that the hotel genuinely wanted to help, especially knowing how much this jersey meant to our son. Instead, we felt that our concern had simply been acknowledged and closed.
We fully understand that hotels cannot guarantee the recovery of lost belongings, and we never expected such a guarantee. What we did expect — and what any guest should reasonably expect — was empathy, clear communication, and a sincere willingness to assist.
It is genuinely heartbreaking to watch your child, in tears, ask for help and slowly realize that no one is truly listening.
Because of this, despite the beautiful sea, the wonderful grounds, and the many positive aspects of the resort, our final impression was overshadowed by the way this situation was handled.
A hotel is remembered not only for its facilities, but also for how it treats its guests when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this experience has made us seriously question whether we would return or recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
We sincerely hope that the management will review its approach to situations like this. Genuine care, empathy, and a sincere willingness to help leave a far more lasting impression on guests than a brief, formal apology."
