"A terrible experience – absolutely do not recommend!
Our issues began immediately upon arrival on September 23, 2026. We were a group of seven traveling with the same agency and were welcomed in an incredibly rude, dismissive, and condescending manner. The hotel manager demanded printed vouchers, which none of us had. She was nervously shaking a piece of paper, insisting on a printout. When one of our group members called our holiday representative and tried to pass the phone to her, she snapped that she "had no time to talk." She showed zero willingness to help, acting nervous and completely unprofessional. We felt like unannounced intruders trying to scam our way in. This is completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. Having traveled extensively, we have never encountered such appalling customer service. This person clearly does not understand hotel management, and such a reception ensures no guest will ever return or recommend this place.
We booked a family room for three adults, expecting a double bed and a double sofa bed. Instead of a sofa, we found a metal, folding camp bed with springs (see photo), suitable only for a child. When we complained, the manager simply claimed there were no other beds. Even our holiday representative couldn't resolve this, so an adult spent seven nights on a collapsing camp bed, waking up every morning with severe back pain.
Furthermore, the room lacked the advertised kettle, cups, or glasses. The balcony only had two chairs for three guests. When asked for a third, the manager refused, stating that each room is strictly assigned two chairs. Ultimately, a maid kindly brought us a kettle and extra chairs in secret, hiding it from the manager.
The All-Inclusive dining was tragic. Dishes meant to be hot were served cold. The selection was incredibly poor: one type of yellow cheese, occasionally two types of white cheese, and two types of cold cuts (one being cheap luncheon meat). Fresh bread was mixed with stale leftovers. Dinner lacked basic items like butter or lemon, and they even ran out of black tea, leaving only herbal options. There were no saucers for cups and no teaspoons. Breakfast included no pastries or cakes; the exact same sponge cake appeared for later meals, differing only by the icing color. The food lacked any labels, and dishes were recycled poorly—for instance, baked potatoes from lunch were served for dinner swimming in an unidentified sauce. The photos in the hotel brochure are completely misleading; you will not see those meals here.
The espresso machine coffee was terrible—cappuccinos and lattes looked identical, with zero foam and barely any milk (see photo). Fruit options were limited to watermelons and apples, with the occasional rotten peach (see photo). Snacks between meals consisted of cheap sandwiches left uncovered in the sun for so long that the edges curled up, attracting flies (see photo). The cocktails were poorly made; the Pina Colada contained no pineapple at all, and popular drinks like Aperol were unavailable during our entire stay. To enjoy good Greek food, coffee, and wine in a pleasant atmosphere, we had to spend extra money at the nearby NIKOS and ALMYRA taverns.
The pool is tiny, and the beach loungers were dirty and uncomfortable. There was absolutely no entertainment or local music.
On our departure day, our transfer was at 8:00 AM. We went down for breakfast at 7:04 AM (which officially starts at 7:00 AM). The manager literally shouted "GET OUT!!!" at the guest who entered. Judge for yourselves if this is a place you want to visit.
To the owners of Elinotel Sermilia Resort: I strongly recommend replacing this manager or sending her to shadow the staff at 4-star hotels like Iolida Beach (Crete), Lindos Breeze (Rhodes), or Iberostar Cala Barca (Mallorca). There, she might learn what hospitality, proper management, and 5-star standards actually look like. In those resorts, the staff is smiling and helpful, guests get what they paid for, and All-Inclusive means what it should. Compared to them, Elinotel Sermilia deserves two stars at most."
