"Overall a great hotel to stay at. The location is a 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurants, and a few minutes more to the town centre. There is a bakery nearby which does the most amazing pastries and sandwiches! Note, there is a children's play area across the road, so if you're trying to escape the sound of children screaming, this might not be ideal!
Rooms are a great size, with comfortable bed, small kitchen area, coffee machines and nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. Cleaning staff and lady who does the breakfasts are great. The room we booked had an outdoor area with a plunge pool - really good for the hot days! The only thing that let down the room, was no sunbeds or beanbags etc. to chill in our own garden. (We noticed at the end of our stay, we could possibly have had giant beanbags to relax on). It would also have been nice to have a small net or something to scoop out the bugs in the plunge pool, as they are left uncovered.
Rooms were cleaned daily, new towels, bed made, floors cleaned etc. and we really appreciated this! Coffee machine serves nespresso, and refilled daily too. (You can buy more from reception).
Pool area is spacious and clean. Sunbeds are comfy. Our only issue was that people got up early to reserve these, and never used them. I wish hotels would stop people doing this, as it ruins everyone elses' enjoyment, especially when these people don't use their sunbeds all day. And we ended up in a towel war at 7am every morning. (I think having some sunbeds in the gardens would help this!)
The service slightly let down our stay, which we can't seem to shake. If it wasn't for these issues, we would have given the venue 5 stars.
We had a late flight, but weren't allowed to keep our room longer (not even for a fee) and couldn't pay to use another room (even though one was available on their website). The office to leave our bags behind wasn't secure, and so we didn't feel we could leave valuables, as anyone had access to this area.
I feel the hotel should have provided a list of the items they could let you use. There is a gym (and massage for a fee), and you could borrow towels for sunbathing etc (which could have saved us 40 euros from buying beach towels!). Other things like a kettle, beanbags etc. would have been nice too.
One morning at 06:30, we were abruptly woken up by our smoke alarm going off. There was no fire, and no way to turn it off. We tried the office numbers several times, and got no answer. The fact that there was no emergency contact, or anyone onsite to help, really let us down. The fire alarm finally died at 07:28, so almost an hour of it ringing. It was cold this day, and we were stuck outside waiting in the wind, while staff came to site to work. We received nothing more than excuses that the emergency phone had locked itself over night, and a weak apology. We weren't really happy about this, but tried not to let it ruin our holiday.
There is a snack and drinks menu - but most snacks we asked for, they would not serve (didn't want to turn the fryer on) and drinks are not served past 6pm (as no-one is on site after this). Which meant we had to go into town for food (which isn't ideal when you want to relax by the pool).
I felt in this respect, the service did let the hotel down. But otherwise, if you aren't worried about those things - the rooms and pool are great! We would definitely return, but would be mindful of these issues raised above."
