"We were looking to spend a romantic weekend in Paris to celebrate an Anniversary and having visited the City several times in the past, we were looking for a traditional luxury hotel, close the Champs Elysees.
I got a great rate from Expedia for a two-night stay and booked a Deluxe Room at Le Belmont. I emailed ahead to advise that this was a special occasion and that any complimentary extras to celebrate the occasion, would be particularly welcome - indicating that we expected to arrive at the hotel, from the airport, around midday (knowing that check-in ordinarily commences at 3pm)
We had pre-booked a 'meet and greet' chauffeur from Charles de Gaulle Airport (with Booking.com) and were driven to the Hotel. On arriving, the property presents as an elegant 6-floor building of traditional Parisienne architecture, set in a street of similar buildings.
The front door is flanked by attractive potted trees and we walked through the automatic doors into an elegant lobby. To the left is a sumptuously furnished bar, to the right is a beautiful salon with multiple comfortable seating areas and ahead was the reception.
We were warmly greeted and advised of the various facilities at the hotel, including the spa, times of breakfast and also offered concierge services, if we required reservations at local restaurants. Even though we had arrived at midday, we were delighted to be advised that our room was ready. A bell man helped us with our luggage to one of the lifts to the 6th floor. Leading the way, the bell man took us along a beautiful crimson corridor to our room (#601).
On opening the door, we were delighted to find that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite. On entering we were in a sitting room, with leather sofa, coffee table and an occasional chair. There was a large flat-screen TV on the wall, a desk with desk lamp and chair and a velux window offering views over the neighbourhood. A door led to a well appointed dressing room with plenty of storage shelving and hanging space. There was a digital wall-safe, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a refrigerated min-bar. Another door led to a wc which had been equipped with an innovative integral bidet system. A third door led into the bedroom, which has a lovely king-sized bed, a velux window above and elegant above-bed drapes. There was a further wall-mounted flat screen TV and a stool. Best of all, the staff had arranged red rose petals over the bed, and three heart-shaped helium balloons with a box of chocolates as their anchor. Such a lovely welcome to begin an Anniversary weekend !
A further door led to a very smart bathroom, with walk-in shower, vanity basin, separate bath tub and excellent lighting.
Complimentary toiletries were by Lalique and there were amenity packs galore, which anticipated every guest need. We had two bathrobes, slippers and an array of 'B' monogrammed fluffy white bath-towels. Airconditioning was easy to use and effective.
At night, with the blackout blinds drawn over the velux windows, we enjoyed two very good night's sleep (helped by the complimentary lavender pillow spray !)
Housekeeping throughout is immaculate and the wonderful staff are both attentive and genuinely friendly.
Outside - The Champs Elysees is a 5 minute stroll down the street to the Luis Vuitton store, opposite which is the nearest Metro station - 'George V' - on the M1 Line, which takes you directly to The Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and has links to adjoining Metro Lines spanning the City. The Arc de Triomphe is a 7 minute walk and if you pre-book timed-admission tickets from it's official site, you can climb the spiral staircase to see breath-taking views over the City. Uber vehicles are plentiful for fast and convenient pick-ups throughout the City and offers a comfortable alternative to the Metro.
Before going out to dinner both nights, we enjoyed wonderful cocktails, expertly mixed, in the hotel's luxurious and decadent bar. We had an amazing weekend in Paris.
This is a wonderful, elegant hotel, which I'd highly recommend in terms of location, service, facilities, staff and comfort. A real gem !!!"
