"A very mixed experience at this hotel. Before my stay I used a confirmable suite upgrade which meant that I had a lovely room. This was on the 9th floor, it was spacious and clean and I loved the style of the room. Check-in was a negative experience with the staff member not knowing some basic information about the hotel, such as whether the lounge is open for breakfast or some other basic matters such as preauthorisation, no information was given on breakfast times or regarding the lounge. I was hurriedly brushed aside so others could be checked in and it left a very bad negative impression particularly when it transpired that key cards had only been validated for one night not two and I had to run around to have this resolved. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. On day one there was an egg station on day two this was not available. A selection of cereal, breads, yoghurts. Fruit was limited and the hot food was quite limited, no bacon and cheap juices. The lounge was really something quite unique. It doesn’t seem to open at all during the day and then at 18:00 it offers wine and soft drinks until 22:00 or until they are gone. Soft drinks weren’t replenished. We arrived to find a small bowl of fruit cocktail the first night and the second night a small plate of desserts complete with a resident fly. Honestly speaking, this was the worst lounge offering I’ve had in any Crowne Plaza hotels and I’ve stayed in a lot as a Diamond Elite member. In conclusion, the location is perfect, next to the tram stop, Gare St Augustin train station and a short stroll from Terminal 1. The rooms are lovely but the staff aren’t quite trained with the same level of hospitality that you’d expect in this category of hotel."
