"Check in/Hotel -
The hotel was lovely, bright and clean. The main reception area always smelled so nice.
During our check in the man (not sure of his name but think he may have been a manager) went through everything with us, he gave us a map of the area and recommended some places to eat if we decided to go out during our stay, he explained all the buses to us. He was very helpful. We got to the hotel just after 11am so was not expected our room to be ready but luckily it was so that was great. To enter your room you use the wristband given at check in, this worked well and we never experienced any problems with this.
All areas of the hotel seemed really well looked after, while we were there they were fixing things as soon as a problem came up (like under one of the water machines it had become damp and ruined and they sorted it straight away)
Rooms were clean, fresh towels and bedding whenever you needed it.
Food and drinks -
I am a fussy eater but there was always something, I personally preferred breakfast and lunch (but that’s just my personal opinion)
They have a station at lunch and tea time where a chef is constantly cooking fresh things, such as - paella, taco night, burgers (with things to add such as cheese, bacon and eggs) doner kebab with wraps and salad this was my personal favourite, cheese night (with a selection of cheeses and crackers)
They have another station where someone if always cooking fresh pizzas, then a meat and a fish dish.
The staff in the restaurant work so hard, always quickly clearing and cleaning the tables, they bring out fresh food as quickly as they can. It can become very busy queuing around the main food part to choose which things you would like.
When you turn on the tv in your room it explains, it shows when it’s busiest in the restaurant and when quieter times usually are. Then there is an app you can get that shows lots of things about the hotel including daily entertainment programmes.
Drinks - some drinks never seem as strong abroad, but the vodka we had was branded Smirnoff so this did seem a lot stronger. There were lots of options for drinks, cocktails and slushie cocktails. There was also a cocktail corner where you could choose some extra cocktails (such as pina colada) you could pay for these at a lower price if you were all inclusive. I think the pina colada cost me €4.80.
Location -
This hotel is situated in a quiet area, there is a restaurant just around the corner (we did not use this during our stay) we walked to punta prima beach one day during our stay and it took myself and my partner between 15-20 minutes to walk it. We did not mind about not really being near anything as we just came away to complete relax, it would of been nice to have a more local shop - though this is not any criticism towards the hotel. There is a shop on site but as always they are always more pricey.
We used the free buses to both beaches - punta prima and binibeca during our stay. They were really good and at times when people could not all fit on the bus the driver kindly did more than one trip.
We also got the bus outside the hotel to Mahon for the night market on a Tuesday - this only cost €1.80 per person for one way.
There is also a train that stops outside the hotel (we did not use this during our stay)
Entertainment -
The entertainment team work so hard, during their lunch breaks they are practising for other shows. Most of the entertainment in the evening was not for us but it’s always nice to have something going on in the background. Myself and my partner just enjoyed sitting on the top part (near the outside bar) playing cards and watching parts of the entertainment. There are always things going on throughout the day which lots of people seemed to be joining in with and enjoying.
Pool -
There is a sectioned off area that does not open until 9am, I think people started to queue for this part around 8ish. But there are other beds around the other side of the pool which you could reserve, my partner went down around 7am most mornings and was always able to get 2 chairs, a table and an umbrella.
The main pool is lovely a nice temperature and great if you just want to sit around the edge with your feet in. It does get busy at times but it never bothered us we could always get in and enjoy the pool. The children’s pool was so cold, but it did not seem to bother most children, I often sat on the edge of this pool and it was not a problem.
The lady life guard was lovely and friendly and always had a smile, she always joined in with the aqua gym. One of the male lifeguards on the other hand seemed miserable. So, we were glad we mainly had the lady around the pool while we were there. The pool area was always clean and tidy. We did not use the quieter pool so cannot comment on this.
Reading some recent reviews from people slating the hotel I feel is really unfair, I am not sure what they expected! There was transportation, we had tea and coffee making things in our room, we did not witness any staff being rude, if people found the pool too small there was a second quieter pool. We personally enjoyed our stay and feel the criticism is unfair in our personal opinion. We enjoyed our 8 days here, thank you ☺️"
