"WELCOME & ROOM
Reception was not too busy when we arrived and we were welcomed in, given our bands and it was explained to us where our room was, we hadn't paid for any sort of pool view or anything and we were assigned a room in Block 1 floor 1. This was convenient for us, right next to the pirate pool, close to the restaurant and close enough to the other pool too. It felt fairly central. There was no lift though, not a problem for us but just something to be aware of.
Room was perfect for us, a good size and we moved the under bed of the sofa bed into the room for our LG and there was room to do that. The living area had the balcony (ours was sunny in the afternoon 1101) a small table, larger table, good sized fridge and cooking facilities if you needed them.
FOOD
Breakfast- everything you could want, all the cooked stuff- sausages, eggs (scrambled, boiled, fried), bacon, beans. Porridge, cereals (not a great selection but ok), fresh fruit, yoghurt, various milks(full fat, skimmed, soya, oat) pancakes, waffles, churros & selection of meats and cheeses. Omelettes freshly made while you wait were available too. Coffee/juice was help yourself & the Coffee was lovely.
Lunch- we took advantage of the A la carte lunch option at the pool bar, tried various things, burgers, bao buns, pizzas, chips, chicken katsu, all excellent and made fresh. I have seen mention of undercooked chicken here(we did NOT experience this & imagine if we were too the staff would of been accommodating as they were so accommodating with everything else)
Dinner- was where it falls down a bit, I would say the selection wasn't great. Found it quite fish heavy! We always managed to get something to eat but it was an area I feel they could improve on.
Snacks- another area which could of been improved on, some days there were rolls in the pool bar (all my LG wanted some days) and others there were not. Maybe having toasties available or some sort of food truck would really improve it!
ENTERTAINMENT
is Excellent for kids especially. My LG loved the entertainment team especially Mayo, he was absolutely excellent at his job, you could tell he truly enjoyed it and cared for the kids. From the minute my LG met him she adored him. She went to the kids club every day and took advantage of all the fun available there. We also played the medal games most days (in front of the stage) meaning kids who take part 3 times get a medal on their last night at the mini disco.
Mini disco was great too & Izzy the koala (quite possibly the best mascot I have seen at a hotel) is out every night & and getting pics with the kids. Stuff going on for adults too if yoh want it but the team are not pushy. Really enjoyed the aqua aerobics with Richie too!
BARS/DRINKS
Everything available that you can think of. Draft beer was very good & bottled was available too. Cocktails freshly made and were excellent.
STAFF who made our stay special: Maria & Alvarin & Tiwi in the pool bar, there was another boy there too but I am sad to say I didn't catch his name but these ones were always friendly and so efficient.
Felix & Mar in the restaurant were really friendly and made an effort with our LG, and were very welcoming.
POOLS
We only used the Main pool & pirate pool, both excellent and not cold once you are in. Sunbeds were never a problem either. There are also smaller pools around some blocks that anyone can use.
LOCATION
Our bus from airport took around an airport n didn't feel too long, we arrived quite early so didn't see the need for a taxi transfer.
Huge supermarket across the road from hotel and there is a lovely marina with nice restaurants about a 15 min walk from the hotel. We ate in the Italian Ciao Bella and would recommend it for a meal out!
Overall an excellent holiday, this was our second time and I would definitely go back. An improvement on snack options and more at dinner and this would be a 5 star review!"
