"Nearly Perfect Menorca Holiday—Except for the Trousers Rule! We just returned from an 11-night stay at the Valentin Star in Menorca, and overall, we had a wonderful holiday.The RoomWe stayed in a Junior Suite, which was lovely, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The shower deserves a special mention—it was absolutely fantastic.Pool & Bar ServiceThe pool area is first-class and kept incredibly clean. While the sunbeds themselves were a little uncomfortable, the service completely made up for it. Each sunbed table has a service button to call the bar staff. This is a brilliant feature that worked wonderfully.DiningThe food here is excellent. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choices, and the evening meal was absolutely first-class.The Dress Code IssueThe only major complaint we have regards the evening restaurant dress code. Men are strictly required to wear long trousers. I find this totally unfair when women can walk into the restaurant wearing almost anything, even straight from the pool. If a hotel insists on men wearing trousers, they should also insist on a similar standard for women, such as dresses or trousers. It feels like a double standard.Value for MoneyThe drinks at the hotel are a little expensive. However, to be fair, the serving sizes are much larger than what we usually get back home.Aside from the frustrating dress code rule, it is a brilliant hotel, and we had a great stay."

"We booked through Jet2 Holidays and upon arriving with our transfer to the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff at reception who offered us water and cold towels. My mum and I got one of the more basic rooms with a double bed and bathroom. There was also a small garden at the back with some seating and a drying rack, that came in handy for drying swimsuits and towels outside. We went for the bed and breakfast only so our room did not have a mini bar but we enjoyed the fact our room had a small fridge which we used to keep our drinks cool. We found the basic room perfectly fine as most of the time was spent by the pool which was just a short walk away. The pool had plenty of sunloungers available and had a system where they could not be reserved in the morning, making it fair for all customers. It was busy by the pool, which is to be expected and according to staff June tends to be their peak season, but there were always some sunloungers available. If you want a particular spot it may be better to go earlier but if not the sunloungers tend to free up throughout the day. There was a bar near the pool which was always well staffed and never had a long wait to be served. You could order drinks there straight to your sunlounger and if you weren't all inclusive you could charge it to your room or request to pay now. There was a good variety of cocktails to choose from and staff would bring round tasters of sangria and food twice a day. The food from the poolside bar was also delicious with a large variety of salads, wraps, burgers, pizza and much more which served as a perfect lunch option. This could also be brought right to your sunlounger or if you fancied a break there were also tables available. This was not included in all inclusive but wasn’t overpriced. The breakfast buffet was quite large and had a variety of options. It was also open until 11pm making it a good option for later risers and making it a good brunch option, especially for those in all inclusive who may have a larger breakfast to last them till dinner. We personally were not all-inclusive but the marina nearby had an array of different restaurants and types of cuisine which we enjoyed during our time there as well as a few shops which were worth a look around. We also took an evening trip to the nearby town of Ciutadella for a change of scenery and enjoyed the market and restaurants as well as its old town. The hotel called the taxi for us and asked the driver to drop us off at the taxi rank so we knew where to wait when we wanted to go home. For daytime entertainment at the hotel there were games and other activities at set times throughout the day in and around the pool. People seemed to get particularly involved in the volleyball tournaments run twice a day. This schedule could be found on a weekly board in the hotel and staff also went around the sunloungers letting people know around five minutes before the activity started. This same board also displayed what the entertainment would be each night. While we were there on the Saturday there was a more ‘club style’ performance with a female singer performing newer songs. On the Sunday there was a blues singer who the audience seemed to engage with a bit more. Then on Monday there was a Michael Jackson tribute which really felt like a performance more than just a live singer. It was their first show at the Hotel but everything was well put together and engaging with choreography and multiple costume changes. The audience enjoyed this most by far and everyone was up on their feet. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a very good location right near town, the staff are lovely and helpful and I had a great experience with the pool, entertainment as well as the food and drink."

"We stayed for a week in June B &B, booked with EasyJet holidays. From start to finish the whole experience was perfect. The flights, the transfers, the hotel, all staff, the pool, the location, the bedrooms, the breakfasts and the whole ambiance of the place was absolutely perfection. Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel and we will certainly return."
