"We booked this apartment based on the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. I had emailed them beforehand and asked for a high floor and twin beds - these requests were indeed granted.
We stayed in Room 38 in one of the blocks and had a lovely view of the pool, opposite cliffs and a partial sea view. We saw the moon rise in the evenings and it was beautiful.
The rooms were spacious, clean and the air conditioning was super. Pool towels are provided which is a nice touch, as was the bottle of water on arrival. The shower was powerful and hot. There was a lot of space around the sink and a large drawer to put toiletries. The kitchen had a large fridge with freezer, kettle and basic cooking facilities/utensils. There is a TV in the lounge area but we did not use it. The balcony is nice with a table and chairs and a small line to hang a few items to dry. We slept well. The rooms get cleaned twice a week and it was done to a high standard. Staff at reception were friendly and gave us advice on local buses and timetables. There's also a small book exchange. The pool is on the small side but perfectly adequate for our needs and we never had a problem getting a sunbed. There are very clean toilets and showers around the back.
The WIFI was ok, could be a bit sketchy at times but on the whole it worked fine for what we needed. The pool WIFI probably worked better than the room WIFI.
There are several local supermarkets within 5 mins walk which stock everything you need - water/drinks, fresh pastries and bread each morning (amazing!) and the one around the corner does baguettes made to order and these were lovely! Plus freshly squeezed orange juice. We took one of the baguettes to the airport for lunch to save on inflated prices.
The town itself is small but lovely. The sheltered beach is a 5mins walk - we hiked to the viewpoint at the far side of the beach to watch the sunset (just follow the beach all the way around to the other side and then go up the steps when you come to them), turn right at the top. We hiked to two of the coves (one in either direction) - both are a 2.2km walk. We found the walk to Cala Mitjana is easier. The one to Cala Macarella is through woodland, but there is a restaurant here and more facilities. Both are worth the effort and are very beautiful.
We can recommend several restaurants: Sa Lluna, Alaska, El Mirador (order a paella and eat with views overlooking the Bay) and Delit Pizzeria. But to be fair, all the restaurants we went to were nice.
There are several souvenir shops to buys gifts and things for the beach/pool.
We caught a direct bus to the capital Mahon (Mao), took about an hour and cost 4.45 euros each way - the bus gives change. There aren't many buses, so get to the bus stop early to bag a seat! Really worth a visit - you can do boat trips and eat tapas in the market, wonder the cute streets and waterfront.
We also went to Ciutadella by direct bus - 3.05 euros each way and takes about 35mins. There are more frequent buses but not that many. Worth a visit - make sure you visit the cathedral and cloisters etc. On certain days they have a market.
The bus stop in Cala Galdana is a 2mins walk from the apartments on the main road by a roundabout.
I would recommend staying here and we really enjoyed our stay - would return. It was a lovely relaxing holiday."
