"We stayed on an all inclusive basis the last week of September / first week of October 2026 and booked a pool / mountain view room.
Transfer - we took a taxi from the airport direct to the hotel that took about 30 minutes and cost approximately 36 Euros.
Check In - was friendly and efficient from the reception staff and we were delighted that our room was ready when we arrived at midday which was a big bonus.
Room - we had requested a room on a high floor and were once again delighted to have been allocated a room on floor 6, the top floor which was a great start to our holiday. We booked a pool / mountain view room as these get the sun all afternoon / early evening and also had a side view of the sea. The room was big enough for the two of us although clothes storage was a bit tight but just enough for the 7 nights that we stayed (although we did take 23 kg of luggage each). This could be improved slightly by changing the bedside tables for bedside cabinets with drawers to add a little extra useful storage space. Unless you wanted flowers in your room the 2 glass vases on the small desk served no other purpose than taking up valuable space. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The small fridge was useful as was the large safe that was included in the price. There were plenty of electrical sockets (7 that we counted) and a huge wall mirror. The WIFI was fine for surfing the web and checking emails etc although we did not try streaming anything. The air-conditioning was excellent which was appreciated as we were blessed with some great weather with temperatures in the low 30's. Sleep quality was generally good although music from nearby Bar 51 was sometimes intrusive past 11pm and beyond at night. Our room was cleaned to a very good standard each day by the cheerful maid. The lifts can be very frustrating as they often seemed to have a mind of their own. We found that if they stopped on the way to your floor you needed to re-press your floor button again each time otherwise if someone calls the lift from a lower floor the lift will go back down!
Shower - the large walk in shower was lovely and had both a rain shower and separate hose attached. The pressure was fine and there was always hot water on demand. The included hotel toiletries were nice and the towels were changed as and when required.
Balcony - there were 2 chairs and a small table. A pull out clothes dryer would have been useful.
Restaurant - we thought the restaurant food was mainly good quality and we always found something that we liked although we did find most of the desserts to be repetitive, dry, bland and unimaginative. There were often quite large queues and it was more often than not very noisy with babies crying etc (we did try sitting in various different parts of the restaurant and at various different times but most days we could not enjoy a peaceful meal). If a section of the main restaurant could be made adults or family only it would help to improve the experience for guests that enjoy a relaxed, peaceful dining experience . We ate out a few times just to get some peace and quiet so that we could enjoy our meals. As with most buffet restaurants the food was rarely served hot but there was a microwave available.
Pool area and bars - we thought that the all inclusive drinks offering was excellent and included Cruz Campo beer on draft and some branded spirits like Bombay Sapphire, Jim Beam, Bacardi, Bacardi spiced, to name but a few plus sangria, cocktails, soft drinks and coffee's etc although it's a pity that Pomada (an iconic Menorcan gin cocktail) was not included on the all inclusive menu. Water filling stations are available at the bars to refill water bottles. Large queues could quickly form mainly due to when guests ordered coffee although the staff did their best to keep up (maybe a separate line for guests wanting coffee would help). The largest pool needs to have the floor repainted as it does not look very appealing but was cleaned daily as was the whole pool area. Music wise the pool area was fairly quiet most of the day accept on 2 or 3 occasions each day when the animation team played VERY LOUD music but this was only for a short period of around 20 to 30 minutes each time. Outside of meal times bar snacks are limited to sandwiches, wraps, mixed nuts and ice cream. There were lots of different seating areas both inside and out. A designated smoking area would be good so that non smokers can also enjoy the outside seating areas without the constant smell of cigarette smoke!
Entertainment - the animation team during the day were full of energy but not at all pushy when trying to get people to join in which was appreciated. There was evening entertainment every night some of which we enjoyed "The Ten String Duo" and "Dejavu" but "Top of the Rock" were very, very poor although this is obviously down to personal taste.
Location - The hotel is perched on top of a hill so if you have any mobility issues you should take this into account as there are a lot of steps or fairly steep hills / slopes into the small town (although the hotel offers a limited shuttle service to and from the beach). Here you find a couple of small super markets, shops including a Tabac and a handful of bar / restaurants and a lovely beach and boardwalk. We also walked into Son Parc along the cliff top Camí de Cavalls trail. Other than this there is not much to do but the bus links around the island are excellent and great value i.e. to get to Mahon (Mao) is just 2.75 Euros per person each way and 2.40 Euros per person each way to Fornells. The bus stop is just a few minutes walk away. IMPORTANT please note that the bus drivers will only take cash or a local travel card.
Maintenance - The hotel is in generally very good condition but some major points that need addressing are the paint on the ceiling of the outside seating area over the front of the car park on level E is peeling and desperately needs re-painting as does the floor of the main pool. The seal on the patio door of our room also needed replacing.
To sum up - This hotel is clean and comfortable and we thought the All Inclusive food and drink offering was very good. The friendly helpful staff are one of the hotels biggest assets. This hotel was a sharp reminder to us of why we normally try and book Adults Only. We really value peace and quiet to relax and recharge, unfortunately we did not get this at the Hotel Palladium Menorca. This hotel is perfect for families with young babies. However if peace and quiet are on your wish list especially at meal times this may not be the hotel for you. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not return."
