"Sun bed: sun bed wars are 100% real! People queue up as pools open 930-730pm and people get lary when wanting certain lounges, however we wasn’t one to queue and always got a sun lounger!
Food: food is ok. Aguamarina burgers offers hot dogs, chips, onion rings, cheese burgers etc all included. There are some extra but have to pay. Ice cream in tubs included either vanilla or strawberry, ones in cones have to pay 3.75 and that’s one scoop. Block b restaurant is bigger and offer a pizza kitchen, more food - the same food as block a but abit more variety for example block A restaurant in the morning would have chocolate crepes Wednesday, then Thursday plain crepes and not chocolate; then alternate between the days however block b would have all of it daily. If you like salad, chips, rice and pasta you’re in for a treat! We haven’t had a problem with the food it was lovely however did get repetitive. They offer at the bar Crossiants, muffins & some type of biscuit with the AI however have to pay extra for waffles etc. pizza corner 4 slices per person, cheese pizza, ham & mushroom, tuna “seafood” and veg - tip ask for them to serve the pizza on top of the bag as if not; it will stick to the bag they serve it in and lose all the top - he won’t do this unless you ask. Same sort of cakes served every night in the restaurants for lunch @ tea.
Rooms: the room we stayed in was sea view block A. The room was dated, it had a weird damp smell and I believe it’s due to the aircon unit. Some cracks in the wall, cleanliness not great however fresh towels @ bed made each day. Outside area was well kept and sun lounges clean and easy access to the Beach.
Beach: clean and lovely clear blue sea. See fish. They have water sports you can pay for unsure on price however paddle board, surf board; boats with slide. Some people do go nude on there tho 😜 😂 also very hot to walk on so water shoes needed especially for children (we went in Aug)
Entertainment: as much as I think they’re great, I wasn’t impressed. From my experience and witnessing they had a kids club, junior club, teen and adults however a long wait between activities as it was the same team doing it for everyone - which they work so hard and love their job and do their best at entertaining, cannot fault them. I bet their day fly’s by! For example aquagym at 12 then the next activity will be 330-430 depending on the day and time before something else for adults as they’re busy with their time doing other groups. It depends what you want to do; just be aware there’ll be gaps in the entertainment as they’re fitting everyone in. I do believe this could be ran better, maybe smaller teams could be split just for kids / juniors / teens adult etc. they’re enthusiastic and friendly and LOVE children!! Which is really good being a family friendly hotel. The white party was ok, we was expecting more it was just party dances and everyone in white which was a shame, not sure what we was expecting but the children LOVED it! We aftually really enjoyed elemento show that they did and the acrobat night! They change ents each week and it was great they’d put on shows - very hard working.
Location: not much to do! We did go to the zoo, it was more like a petting farm with a couple of animals. We did the park in an hour and half. They have a little park, soft play with ball pit; trampoline and splash park so bring wet suits. It does break up the stay. We didn’t explore the island as we have a 7 and 4 year old who’s happy with the pool.
Waitresses: we had an odd experience. Unfortunately for the good hard working staff it was ruined by a few rude locals. There was an incident where my son fell asleep in the pushchair, not knowing that we wasn’t allowed buggies in the restaurant the waitress aggressively moved the pushchair out the way, and nearly knocked my heads son on the wall. I went ballistic, rightly so and she was speaking in Spanish, I believe. I then said what? And she mimicked the way I was speaking. I did report this to jet2, the hotel and the manager. There was a couple of other rude staff - albeit they work extremely hard and very fast however, don’t need to be rude and aggressive to cause harm. This was block A however after this, she got moved to block B, but we can eat in both restaurants and preffered block B for lunch as it was near the activity pool. In the evening and during day always waiters/waitresses collecting empty cups and really appreciate a tip!
Pools-slides - slides were cool!😎 the green one is lethal 😂 pools are clean, warm & get so hot like a bath towards mid afternoon- evening ! 😜 the kids loved the activity pool and made friends in that pool. The youngest loved the kids pool with slides & the bucket. Allowed inflatables in but only a certain size.
Lifeguards: always aware!! Even during
The activities they are surrounding the pool
Monitoring children! Amazing.
Kids club: I haven’t put my children in the kids club however they went once with us there we didn’t leave their side. I do believe they need to be stricter with their security of the children. A little girl was speaking to me (English) were also (English) and the man who come from behind the door, thoight she was with me and was asking me about her - god forbid, it was me but this could been have very easy for me to sign her out as he wasn’t aware. This is how things happen and I wouldn’t dream of leaving my children in kids club, I do believe they need to be more stricter on their security. Only sign in and out on paper and leave details but could be too late although the site is generally safe; you never know!
Park: brilliant, clean and things to do for all ages and same with the bouncy castle - 3 different parts for all ages. 🥰
Extras: didn’t play golf, but you do have to pay extra. Same with table tennis & go karts and obviously the arcades!
Toilets: the toilets are equipped round the hotel however when the staff are cleaning the whole unit is shut and you have to find other toilets- they don’t leave one working or in use toilet for people.
Showers: there’s 3 outdoor showers that we see near pools, and none of them were working which was a total shame.
Showers near beach: to wash your feet, or shoes or sandy items there’s an outdoor area to wash however one was out of order all week and depending on time there was queues that formed! Inconvenient sometimes however people were quick to share .
Floor: be careful when walking from pool to pool or slides, the amount of times people slipped including myself and people fell over again; including my children.
People: most were good vibes but had a few run in with rude people however that is everywhere you go.
Mosquitos are out at night and are on force so make sure you take spray or wipes and also wasps are around, however they’re not as nasty as UK wasps!
We really enjoyed aqua gym to a point that I’ve joined a group at home.
The water carpet the kids loved & the bouncy castle on the water (big inflatable obstacle course) however watch for people who jump the line!!!
Menorca airport is lovely 😻 quiet little airport and very fast. Friendly staff.
Unfortunately, despite an amazing holiday and great memories made with the pool and beach and slides, we wouldn’t return and this is our based on my experience. However, Menorca is a lovely small little island 🏝️ and very safe and welcoming. Hope this helps people for their stay!"
