"We were really disappointed with our stay here, especially considering this was one of the most expensive hotels we’ve stayed in. For the price we paid, we honestly don’t feel it was worth the money at all.
We were travelling with a baby and unfortunately didn’t find the hotel particularly family-friendly.
The kids’ pool was absolutely freezing, which was surprising considering it had the whole summer to warm up. The kids’ pool and surrounding area also felt quite dirty and uninviting. There was bird poo all over the sun loungers and the flooring around the pool looked like it needed a really good wash. We didn’t enjoy sitting around the kids’ pool because of this.
There also weren’t enough sun loungers around the main pool, and there definitely weren’t enough umbrellas for the number of guests. The lovely outdoor beds that are shown in the hotel’s advertising photos are actually in adults-only areas and come with a ridiculous additional charge. This was very misleading and definitely not what we expected from the photos when booking.
Another major issue was the lifts. There are only two very small lifts for the entire hotel, which became a massive problem, particularly when travelling with a baby and a pram. The lifts are so small that realistically only around two people with a pram can fit comfortably. When we had suitcases, we often had to make several separate trips just to get everything up or down. To make matters worse, the lifts were frequently out of order, which made getting around the hotel extremely frustrating. For a hotel of this size, having only two tiny lifts is simply not enough.
The food was another major disappointment. The buffet had a very small choice and we didn’t find the quality particularly good. The food truck and pool bar were also expensive for what you got, and unfortunately the food wasn’t very nice.
Our room was modern and nicely decorated, but it was extremely small. I wouldn’t recommend these rooms for families with babies or children as there simply wasn’t enough space. It might be more suitable for two adults.
We also had an ongoing issue with our shower leaking into the bedroom, leaving the floor wet constantly. We reported this to reception, but unfortunately it was never properly fixed during our stay.
Although the rooms were modern, the lobby and the rest of the hotel felt very old-fashioned and dated, which was quite different from the modern look we expected from the hotel’s advertising and the price we paid.
There were also a lot of adults-only areas, which made the hotel feel much less family-friendly than we expected. The evening entertainment was shocking and there really wasn’t much to do at night.
We also found that most of the staff mainly spoke German, which made communication difficult at times.
The town itself is very small and there isn’t a huge amount to do.
Overall, this hotel was nowhere near the standard we expected for the price. We have stayed in much cheaper hotels that offered a far better experience. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend it for families with young children. It may be more suitable for two adults, but even then, given the price, we personally don’t feel it offers good value for money."
