"Just returned back from a week at the JS Palma stay and had a wonderful trip.
We arrived late and we were able to check in and go straight to dinner before they stopped serving. There was a lot of choice of salads, pasta, pizza, veg, meat, fish and desserts. We did a half board package and drinks at breakfast were included but in the evening, additional but you’re able to charge drinks to your room and pay at the end rather than paying as you go if you prefer.
Breakfast was a similar offering, lots of choice from bread, pastries, cereal, yogurts, fruit, cooked breakfast, omelette station, there was something for everyone.
Annoyingly, there is only options in the hotel room have a buffet lunch and there isn’t anywhere to grab a sandwich or anything if you are around the pool. We went to one of the cafes on the seafront and grabbed a sandwich and some crisps from there and took them back to the pool as we didn’t want a big lunch.
Each night the restaurant does a “theme”. One night they made fresh burgers how you like, then kebabs another evening, bao buns another. The food was in all, good but there were a couple of things we had which weren’t great such as on the final night I had a piece of cake from the pudding section and it was so dry, it was almost as if it had been left on the side for days before serving it. The staff in the restaurant are very attentive & friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them!
The room was very clean and it was a nice touch you got slippers in the room. The lack of tea and coffee in the room we found strange when there is a kettle provided but we went to a nearby supermarket and got tea making bits and used the fridge in the room to store milk. We asked at the bar to use 2 coffee cups and they allowed us to take them to our room to use throughout our stay. I also agree with the reviews regarding the cost of the safe in the room. I have never stayed at a hotel where it has cost to use the room safe, let alone so much money. We didn’t use it and just locked our passports in our case which were fine.
The pool area was nice and well maintained but sadly the “no reservations of sunbeds” rule doesn’t exist and after probably 8am, you have no chance of getting a sun bed at all. It was generally, quite peaceful at the pool and had no music blaring etc which was nice to relax.
The spa area we found lovely, it was so quiet there was barely anyone in there. We enjoyed the jacuzzi jets and steam room and didn’t find any issues in the spa area. If you want to use a hotel towel, they charge a 10€ cash deposit for use of the towel which you get back upon returning it.
The hotel is located in a nice quiet area with lots of restaurants and bars only a short walk away and a beautiful beach. We went to the beach area around the corner and hired sunbeds and a parasol for the day and it cost 30€ for 2 beds and the parasol, expensive but worth it to save on the fight to get a sunbed at the pool.
The hotel is located near a bus stop which is only 2€ to get into Palma and the buses run extremely frequently and are easy to use. You can use contactless or coins & it drops you right into the centre of Palma.
Upon check out the staff let us use the luggage storage facility and there was also an area you could use to shower and change if needed but we just went to the mall to kill some time which was a 10 minute bus ride away and also very easy to get to.
The hotel is situated close to the airport so if the plane noises bother you then it probably isn’t the best to stay here but we didn’t notice them really and actually, sometimes quite enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching them take off!
Overall a fantastic stay at the JS Palma stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back, thank you to all the people who made our trip special!"
