"I originally booked a holiday in the Sa Coma, adults only Hipotel; but due to over running building work was offered this as an alternative. I booked a sea view junior suite in order to ensure a higher room and had room 1517 on the 5th floor.
The suite was huge, and the balcony was a very good size.
Overall condition of the suite was a 'bit battered' - for example there were small gaps in the wooden flooring, slight discoloration on the shower area tiles (due to mineral build up etc) but everything in it worked and was clean. Housekeeping allows you to select the time you want your room cleaned each day - which is a huge bonus for me.
I had a half board option - many others staying were all inclusive. I would describe this as a hotel which offers all inclusive, rather than an all inclusive hotel (if that makes sense) and I was very impressed with the dining area and food as a whole. Plenty of staff, nicely laid out tables with cutlery and stem ware etc. The food options at breakfast were varied and decent (although the juices felt rather 'artificial' flavoured) and there were no espresso cups despite it being an option from the machines. In the evening food was equally good and varied. Starters had a vague theme each night - one was all seafood and was wonderful, another all choices were 'Italian' etc For main courses there were grilled meats and fish nightly, pasta choices as well as 3 or 4 vegetarian options. There were also about 6 other prepared choices - sole meunier, stewed pork, cauliflower cheese, confit duck legs - lots of pork dishes because it is a Majorcan speciality. There were always chips and chicken nuggets available, if that is what you need, but there were several different vegetable and potato 'sides' as well as rice each night. Desserts were again very varied and different each night - 3 choices of quality ice cream every day, various cakes and pastries as well as jellies, creme style puddings and fruit etc. There was also a very impressive selection of cheese and 'cheeseboard extras' each night - these changed daily too.
Pool area is pretty decent with a small 'kiddies' circular pool as well as the 'free form' main pool area - I couldn't manage to work out the actual depths though. Lots of loungers and padded, canopy style beds.
The indoor pool is pretty small, but a great shape and design as it isn't too deep. There are only about 4 lounger beds in the area though.
Gym is tiny and located next to the pool, so it's VERY warm in there. All glass too, so quite exposing.
Staff were friendly, although most were German, or spoke to me in German during my stay - which I can speak about as well as I speak Spanish, so it wasn't an issue.
I was concerned that there could be noisy and disruptive building work around the hotel - based on information I received and online reviews - however, almost all of the work being carried out on the road has been completed, and other than a small fork lift moving one pallet of paving stones each day there was absolutely no other noise.
Overall, the hotel was a very decent alternative to the one I had originally booked and I was not disappointed, although I would still choose my original hotel and resort if I booked again; but, this would definitely be a very acceptable alternative."
