"We stayed at BLUESEA Anba Romaní and overall had an average experience. If you're simply looking for somewhere to sleep in a fantastic location, this hotel may suit you, but there are definitely areas that need improvement.
Check-in was quick and efficient. We were checked in by Yara, who was lovely, friendly and professional. She made a great first impression and was a pleasure to deal with.
Unfortunately, the rest of our experience with reception was very different. The telephone in our room had already been damaged when we arrived – the cable had been completely ripped out of the wall, so it couldn't even be connected. As it was already detached, we simply took it to reception to show that it had been like that when we checked in, as we didn't want to be held responsible for the damage later. Instead of listening to our explanation, Frank repeatedly interrupted us, raised his voice and almost shouted at us. It was a very unpleasant and unnecessary interaction.
The room itself was a decent size, clean, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sea view, which was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The food was average. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, with a good selection of eggs, fresh bread and other breakfast options. Lunch and dinner were acceptable but nothing memorable.
The snack bar, however, was extremely disappointing. Every day it was almost exactly the same – hot dogs or burgers in buns, one side such as onion rings or very soggy fries, and a few pastries that appeared to be leftovers from breakfast. There was very little variety, and the quality was poor.
The drinks themselves were fine, but one policy at the bar was quite shocking. After arriving from a long journey, we simply wanted something to drink, but we were refused because we didn't have €1 in cash per person as a deposit for the reusable cups. We had to take our luggage upstairs, leave the hotel, find a cash machine and withdraw money before we could even get a drink. We've never experienced anything like this at an all-inclusive hotel.
There was also virtually no entertainment. Nothing really happened during the day or in the evenings, and there was very little for children. If you're looking for entertainment, this probably isn't the hotel for you.
The location, however, is excellent. The hotel is right on the promenade and just steps from the beach, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
We also had an unpleasant experience with Jose in the restaurant. While I was holding a hot cup of coffee and waiting in line to get some food, he physically pushed me to move forward. This nearly caused me to spill the coffee over another guest. When I told him that staff should never push guests, he simply waved his hands at me instead of apologising or speaking politely. Physical contact with guests is never acceptable.
On a positive note, there was a lovely young lady with curly hair working by the pool. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, but she was always friendly, smiling and welcoming. She was one of the highlights of the hotel staff.
Overall, this hotel is acceptable if you're mainly looking for somewhere to sleep and want a fantastic beachfront location. However, the poor customer service from some staff members, the disappointing snack bar, the lack of entertainment and some unusual hotel policies mean that we would not choose to stay here again."
