"Me & my husband wanted to come back to Majorca for a change this year & Alcudia means a lot to me personally after it was my first ever holiday as a family when I was a child. I had some memories to celebrate and remember and this hotel looked lovely and the reviews were great from what we saw. I honestly would ignore the negative reviews I honestly think some people have nothing better to do than moan. I’ve been travelling for years and this is honestly both our favourite hotel by far.
Pros -
The staff everywhere are incredible, they actually enjoy their job, want to help - want to serve you. Nothing is too much trouble. The bar staff are absolutely incredible- every single one of them, always laughing, joking, attentive and remember your order from the first couple days. Marta, Maria, Pompey (he knows!) , Barto, Ireland and the others are wonderful. ( I can’t remember all their names I’m so sorry!) even the life guard is great!
Food - the food is of a high quality and cooked incredibly well I am a fussy eater and I struggled one night out of 10 and it’s mainly because it was “fish night” - I would highly recommend upgrading to the premium all inclusive it’s worth every penny this is what we did. We did it for the food not the drinks and you can order anything of the bar menu from 1-3pm and the food is wonderful. You can have pizzas, club sandwiches, burgers, toasties, baguettes etc, you even get all ice creams and crisps and nuts included. It’s £15PP but it’s 100% worth it. I believe TUI offer it now online too for next year. If you don’t take it you only get snacks x2 per day, certain ice cream & the three meals. Food wise at the buffet on the evening has a lot of choice as mentioned, the upgrade also included all the cocktails and the mango & strawberry moijito is insanely good!! (it’d be good to see the menu extend maybe 1-6pm)
The rooms are spacious I don’t think people know how to utilise the space - the bathroom is a normal size, beds are very comfy, you get a dresser & large mirror & wardrobe with shelves not sure what else you’d want.
The pool is so warm it’s like a bath it was a great change to the normal cold ones you get! The loungers are extremely comfortable as well & they don’t open the gate till 8am!
The location is perfect it’s about a 5 min walk to the beach, 10 mins max to the port, 1 bus stop away to the old town, you can be in playa de Muro in 20 mins on the bus as well. (Worth a visit!)
My only “negatives” which aren’t really negatives would be more of an improvement is I could see the hotel being adults only - it has the ideal hotel to be as their isn’t many kids that come and not much for them which was welcome for us and a novelty, some of the male servers would prefer to serve the single women first lol & the air-con isn’t the best throughout the hotel and in the room it’s a bit of a pain. None of this would stop me coming though it’s just a general observation of some welcome improvements. (Be aware the pool area is small but they do have garden areas for you to sunbathe!) - also bit random but now the hotel is becoming more popular they need an extra toilet inside and by the pool as the queues can become long.
Hopefully see you next year Bahia! X"
