R2 Apartamentos Bahia Kontiki

"Just back from a week in Bahia Kontiki, check in was seamless as we did it in advance, so it was just pick up the card and off we went. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel and we knew what to expect, Room well appointed and had everything we needed. We were located at the bottom level, and that was perfect. One thing to note, if you have a room with a back door, you can lock it by presenting the card to the turn handle, it flashes green, then turn the handle amd it locks, unlock is swipe turn and enter, 2 days in when i worked that one out!! Only point i would love them to address is the late check out process. We had a late (9pm) flight, checkout was midday, the process, check with reception 24hrs in advance, i did, was told hotel was full but to check again on day of departure and a room msy be available for showering and changing, great thought i, BUT, at 2 minutes past 8am. I did and was told no room was available after 4pm when the housekeeping staff left for the day. The thought of having no alternative option lead to a few hours of anxious planning, we then checked out to be asked if we needed a room to shower anytime after 430pm. !!! We love the hotel, but the check out process needs to be sorted,,"

"Upon arrival we were underwhelmed, having paid over £4,500 in total for our 9 nights stay. Branded a “four star”, there was no grand welcoming, not even as much as help with our cases in which we had to take our own luggage down 3 flights of stairs. (2 people over 60 without even as much as service from staff - poor). Though the hotel did not stop us from enjoying our holiday, we are leaving with a sour taste in our mouth and blowing literal hot air. Air conditioning being the main factor, or should we say, lack of it. Having had little to no issue for the first week, our last night the aircon stopped working. Having spoken with multiple other guests all are in agreement the aircon system is dated and all round not great. However, having reported the system to be not working to the reception desk at 7pm, we left to enjoy our last evening in the hope of coming home to a semi-cold room. More fool us, arriving back to the room less than 3 hours later, the room was hotter than ever. Back to reception to further the complaint, the receptionist told us there was “nothing she could do” as maintenance had been in, signed it off as complete (fixed), and left. The receptionist followed this with “nothing could happen tonight” and that “no manager was available” when asked. The lady on reception told me to “take a seat” before asking the security guard to source one single fan from elsewhere (somewhere outside the establishment). When told we had two bedrooms to our apartment so we would require more than one fan - she shrugged and was then able to provide a further from the staff room. These were handed over to myself and my mother in reception and again we were expected to make our own way back down the flights of stairs to our accommodation, without as much as the offer to help us with them, yet again poor service from this “four star” establishment. Basic hotel/ apartments. Never 4 stars. Have stayed in so much better for a lot less."

"Second time staying here so 10 out of 10 again. It’s almost like you’re not actually staying in PDC as it’s so quiet. Saying that it’s still in the middle of everything you’ll need. Bars, restaurants, beach, all within walking distance. Our room 3118 looked out onto a sun terrace which was really quiet and only a short walk to the strip. Spotless and well maintained, great breakfast and lunch menu. Friendly, helpful staff. Full appliances available in the kitchen and filtered water also in the kitchen. Nice touch was the bottle of bubbly waiting for us in the room as we’d stayed last year. Hope to be staying again in 2026."
