"So where do we start??? Location - The hotel is in a pretty decent place, close to bus routes, there's a supermarket virtually next door along with a gift shop. It's not near any nightclubs or loud music venues which was good in some aspect but also not in others, as it was quiet. There is a guard on duty 24/7 outside the hotel and there's a driveway to reception so no-one will sneak in uninvited. Atmosphere - The hotel reception was well staffed, we arrived near midnight and we checked in quickly, they had also provided a cold meal of breads, salads and meats for us which we thought was pretty decent. Room - We were pleasently surpised with the size of the room, the only 'odd thing' was as soon as you open the door the beds are there - no big deal but it was a bit of a suprise. The pillows are long and very thin, so I would suggest asking for another pillow as we had to fold ours over. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over it, however the bath didn't have any taps or a plug so we couldn't have used it as a bath even if we had wanted, having said that the shower was great, powerful and constant hot water. There was a lounge area and with a table and chairs and a decent sized sofa, along with a good size TV on the wall. We also had a balcony with a table and chairs and 2 washing lines either side of the balcony. So a great place to hang your swimmers on. There are 2 ceiling fans and air con which is really good!!! Food - There are a few places to get something to eat, the main restuarant, the pool bar, the pizza and chicken hut and the Al La Carte area. The Restuarant - This is the main place for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there are a large selection of food, like most AI the food does come samey samey at times, but you cannot please everyone all the time. We always found something to eat, there was always a huge selction of cakes, and puddings, as well as ice cream etc, even a chocolate fountain, the staff in there work so hard, there was always somewhere to sit, and the tables were cleared and cleaned super quick. Just don't move the tables, I'll explain later. Pool Bar - Again the staff work super hard and they seemed to be on the go constantley, serving drinks and food. They offer burgers, foot long hot dogs!, chicken burgers and chips. As well as drinks etc. Pizza and Chicken Hut - this only ever had 1 person on it, cooking etc, the pizzas were nice, and they offered 1/2 chickens which were always snapped up. They also do Nutella pizzas!! Al La Carte - This is next to the pool bar, and you place your order off the menu and the food is served to your table. The food here is hit and miss, for example they offer a steak curry which is served cold on lettuce, not our cup of tea. But one of our party had the chicken strips and it was a large portion. Bar Staff - As mentioned in other reviews some of the staff can come across as rude particually when they reliase you are British, but I'm not tarring all of them with that brush, it's clear they work very hard and long hours, plus they are constantly being watched on the CCTV in the bar. So they didn't really have time to stop and chat. Housekeeping - These ladies are amazing, they work so hard and the rooms are always super clean. The Pools - There are 3 pools, a main one, a toddler pool and a baby pool, all well maintained and warm. The entertainment - I'm going have to just say it as it is, the entertainment is awful! The only night that was decent was when a DJ came and did a set, he plays at festivals so knew how to get people dancing. The rest were shocking, and to be honest they would be better letting the animation team use that area rather then making them stay in the small inside venue. The Spa -You just have to for any treatments. The Spa is great and free! Which is unusal you normally have to pay for areas like this, I had 2 treatments both really well priced and great value. The dead sea pool is great as long as you don't have a small cut lol.. The roof top solarium - This is great, adult only with a jacuzzi and showers but it's really hot up there with a lovely breeze so watch the sunburn! Rules - There are many! Some I agree with, some I don't. The sunbed one is fine, and the sunbed police as we called them were handing out warnings and removing towels. However ones we didn't agree with is if you had a sun brolly it had to be up even in the morning or they took it off you. Moving of tables even by an inch is a no no, you are told off if you even try to do that, this is the same in the restuarant as well, which means a family of 4 has to sit on 2 tables. Be aware if you wear a long sleeve shirt that covers your wirst band, you wont be served at the bar, even if the same bar staff has served you all week. Would we go back?? Yes probably because now we now know things are run, so we would make small changes, we'd probably arrange days out as well as laying on sunbeds all day isn't for some of our party. Garfield the cat, literally stays wherever he wants, which could be your sunbed or chair. He clearly knows how to play the tourists !"

"If I could pick up this hotel and take in anywhere I would. It has the lot. Nice airy rooms, fantastic food, eat as much as you like with so much option and chef's cooking from fresh on hot plates. Nice pool with surrounding jacuzzi's here and there and a nice little gym with a jacuzzi right outside with power fountains to massage under. Entertainment throughout the day and at night in certain locations of the hotel complex. Childrens club, foam parties for the children set up in the football/basket ball court. Cushions on every sun lounger for comfort. Superb mini golf course and large shuffle board area next to it. Then there is man made caves underground inside the wellness centre under the hotel swimming pool with massage rooms, steam rooms huge jacuzzi area with water fountains to have a massage under and the fact we was only half board, it was all free to use. There was no need to go (All Inc). Quiet sun loungers on raised decking overlooking the pool and a roof top sun lounging area (adults only) with yet another big jacuzzi fringed with trees and bushes It was absolutely spotless throughout the complex. I can honestly say I struggled to find fault with the hotel. Checking in & out was very good and such friendly staff giving information on anything you need. Bus stop is only 200 mtrs away down the street to go anywhere. Taking a bus to the Water Park is 20 mins. Take a one way bus from Maspalomas to Puerto de Morgan about 40 mins away, nicknamed ( little Italy) such a beautiful little resort by the sea, lovely beach with salt water canals running through it and pretty Spanish houses with a marina. Only take a one way ticket for 8 Euro's, children under 4yrs free . Then take the glass bottom boat for the way back for 8 Euro's down the coast from Puerto de Morgan to Puerto Rico taking in breathtaking views of the mountains falling into the sea with smugglers caves. Pick up the bus from Puerto Rico bus station after a walk around it's town to get you back to Maspalomas. There is a fridge in the room to store cold drinks and found a LIDLE supermarket 5 mins walk away, find it on your mobile phone to get all your drinks, and snacks from. 12 cans of San Miguel for under 6 Euro's, 1ltr of Dark or White Rum is around 6 Euro's and you can take your own drinks to the pool side. I won't forget this hotel and will struggle to find another like it. There has been some real thought gone into this hotel and it is spotlessly clean throughout beyond belief. It's a 4 star hotel but would give it 6 stars to be honest. Ben Godber from Chorley (Lancashire)"

"If you are British I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Majority of staff are very very rude, abrupt and aggressive. Seem very unhappy in their jobs, few smile, seem worse towards British travellers. They should remember without paying customers, Brits included, they may be out of work! Pool bar in particular were rude and miserable, Palmera Bar a little happier, but Hurmna (sorry if spelling is incorrect, when I asked her name she said it so fast and disappeared before I could catch it or read her name tag properly) is very rude, to Brits, can’t do enough for the Spanish though. She came over being very loud and waving her sign (not allowed to move tables) as we had moved a table a couple of inches (literally) to get some shade (we have children), as had another couple. It wasn’t the fact she came and said we couldn’t move a table (even though it was literally a few inches and causing no issue, we’ve seen so many do it, especially at night. The sign is on the bar I assume, we had missed it), it’s the way she came over, loud, aggressive, made a scene, in front of everyone, as another reviewer said, treated like naughty kids, we’re adults, treat us like that. We missed the sign, had seen others do it with no issue, it didn’t warrant the way she came over. She (along with other staff) needs to learns some manners and needs some customer service training, there are other, more respectful ways, she could have dealt with the situation, she came over like a dictator, trying to make herself look big. Same thing happened to another family in the restaurant, they missed the sign on one side of the pillar, woman in a beige suit came over, shouting and gesturing, it’s a table for goodness sake! Cleaners work really hard to keep everything spotless. Rooms lovely. Food is good, a bit repetitive, but you can find something. Main restaurant is very busy at times, like a school canteen. Don Miguel food is really lovely and very quick service. Pool snack food is also good. Reception staff are ok. Drago bar staff are better than the others, don’t smile much but less rude and arrogant than Pool Bar and Palmera. Sun loungers are a pain on occasion, pool staff sometimes remove towels if people don’t return, sometimes they don’t, at least not quickly. 1 family put towels on 8 loungers before 08:45, they turned up at 16:30! Staff had removed them, but not until 16:00!! So many people came looking for loungers, they should have been removed way before that. Evening entertainment is absolutely awful. It’s painful to listen to some of them. Animation team seemed to work really hard, our family didn’t interact much with them, but from what we observed the kids seem to enjoy. Location is great, recommend the Chinese restaurant just around the corner, Chino Chinasol (left and then left again past the supermarket), beautiful food and quick service. Wellbeing Spa is lovely, we used that quite a bit. We could walk to the beach in around 10 mins, which was great. All in all, good and bad at this hotel, some of the staff really are horrible and rude, and unfortunately, the staff are the only reason we wouldn’t return to this hotel."
