"TripEyes Review: Cordial Green Golf Bungalows (or whatever the exact hotel name is—assuming based on description; edit if needed) - Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Rating: 1/5
Avoid at all costs—dangerous, filthy, and a total scam compared to TUI’s glossy ads. Ruined my first solo trip and triggered my PTSD.
Stayed here on a TUI package in early November 2025. What a nightmare. The photos on TUI’s site showed bright, spacious bungalows with pool views—reality? A tiny, grimy shack that looked abandoned for years. Dirty floors, neglected walls, nothing like advertised. Felt cheated from the second I walked in.
Safety Hazards Everywhere (1/5):
• Key card power slot dangling off the wall with exposed wires—sparking risk!
• Electrical box by TV: wires hanging out.
• Hairdryer bolted to bathroom wall but loose with exposed cables.
• Bedroom light fixture hanging by a thread, wires showing.
• Fridge: drawers smashed and useless.
• Window wouldn’t lock; front door barely shut—terrifying for someone with PTSD who needs to feel secure. As a disabled traveler, this was unacceptable and anxiety-inducing.
Hotel “fixed” it by sending a handyman who made things worse: yanked out the TV box (killed my WiFi), shrugged at the key slot saying “lights work anyway,” and ignored the rest. No proper repairs, just band-aids.
Check-In Rip-Offs (1/5):
Demanded deposits for TV and AC remotes—never mentioned in booking. My poolside view request? Denied flat-out.
Maintenance & Cleanliness (1/5):
No daily cleaning—room stayed gross. Pool area rundown and unkempt. Outdoor men’s toilets flooded; my cousin slipped, fell, and sliced his foot open on the filth. He flew out just to check on me because I was that distraught.
Atmosphere & Policies (1/5):
Day 2: Guy openly smoking weed by the pool, staff did nothing. I’m 6 years sober in recovery—this was a massive trigger, made me want to bolt.
Service & TUI Support (1/5):
No TUI reps on-site despite package holiday. Complained via app/phone; manager promised fixes but ghosted. Spent $20 taxi to another hotel for a rep—only to get an email demanding £1,300 extra for a move, with 2 hours to decide. TUI’s €100 “compensation” offer? Laughable insult.
Pros: None. Transfer was a joke too—2-hour airport wait, dropped blocks away, driver couldn’t communicate.
This place is a health/safety violation waiting to happen. TUI’s misleading ads are false advertising—demanding full refund and more. If you’re vulnerable or expect basics, book elsewhere. Photos attached to my formal complaint prove it all. TUI, sort your partners out!"
