Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel

"We stayed at Elba Palace Golf Resort in Fuerteventura for 7 nights as a couple, and it was exactly the kind of holiday we were looking for. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt lovely, clean, elegant and relaxed without being too busy. Check-in was especially nice. Even though we arrived late, we were welcomed with a glass of bubbly, sat down and talked through everything properly rather than just being rushed through reception. It was a really nice first impression. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a massive comfortable bed, a lovely balcony and no noise at all. The room had a ceiling-style cooling system rather than what we would normally think of as standard air conditioning, but it still kept the room nice and cool. The maid came every day and the room was always kept spotless. Breakfast was excellent. There was a buffet with fruit, pastries and all the usual cooked breakfast options such as sausages, beans, tomatoes and hash browns. You could also order freshly cooked eggs or omelettes from the menu, which staff came over to take your order for. There was freshly squeezed orange juice, other juices, water, coffee and even bubbly if you fancied starting the day that way! We stayed half board, so breakfast drinks were included. Dinner was also really good. Starters were buffet-style with plenty of choice including salads, pasta, fruit, cheeses and meats. For the main course you ordered from a menu, with lots of options including steak, lamb, fish and daily specials. Most dishes were included, with only a small number of options carrying an extra charge. There was also a dessert buffet and ice cream. Drinks at dinner are paid for separately, which is worth knowing. The pool area was probably one of our favourite things about the hotel. It was peaceful, clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. You occasionally saw a couple of people reserving beds, but it was never a problem and during our whole stay we never struggled to find one. There was no loud music around the pool, no rush and no fighting for sunbeds – just a really calm, relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was served from 8:30am to 10:30am and dinner from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, which worked well for us. There is a spa and a gym at the hotel. We didn’t use the spa. The gym was quite small and had enough equipment for a lighter workout, with weights going up to around 20kg, but there wasn’t much equipment and we found it too warm as there didn’t seem to be air conditioning, so we decided to give it a miss. The staff throughout the hotel were excellent – very friendly, polite and helpful. We never came across anyone rude or unhelpful. Pool towels are available and can be changed at reception whenever you need, and staff always seemed keen to make sure you had everything you needed. The hotel is situated on a golf course, so if you’re into golf there is plenty on offer. We didn’t play ourselves, as we chose this hotel purely for a relaxing break, and that is exactly what we got. The beach and town are around a 15–20 minute walk away. We found the walk fine in the evening when it was cooler, but taxis were also very easy and only cost us around £4. There was some live entertainment at the hotel on certain evenings, although we tended to head into town. There is a live music café there with shows most nights if you want a bit more atmosphere in the evening. One tip we would give is not to bother booking a coach transfer from the airport. The hotel is only around 15–20 minutes from the airport, so a taxi is much easier. There are usually taxis waiting at the airport, and when leaving, reception can order one for you and ours arrived within around 5–10 minutes. We are 37 and 38, and if you’re looking for a party hotel then this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you want somewhere peaceful, comfortable and genuinely relaxing, with good food, friendly staff, a lovely pool and no stress over sunbeds, this is ideal. We came here wanting to completely switch off and relax, and that’s exactly what we did. We honestly had no complaints and would definitely recommend it. For us, it fully deserves its 5-star rating. ★★★★★"

"My wife and I have just returned from spending 10 days at this hotel on the golf course. It was a quality experience. The food on offer at evening meal was outstanding. The choice and quality of it was superb. The staff here are very helpful and friendly especially Andrea who was so good to us. Breakfast was ore than adequate for our needs. The room was large, Bedwas really comfy with a large bath and shower. The view out onto the golf course was lovely too. The hotel is isolated which is obvious bearing in mind its on a golf course. We knew that before we travelled up this didn't put us off. Each day we walked to the Centro Atlantico Shoppi and Centre which took us about 25 minutes. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service that departs 3 times a day hourly late morning/lunchtime. We would recommend a stay here. You can chill by the large swimming pool without having to worry about getting a sunbed. All in all, we really enjoyed a relaxing stay. The only negative is the price of drinks at 6.50 Euro for a large beer. But don't let that put you off. A 11 out of 10 customer experience at a quality hotel with quality food especially evening meal. Go on, spoil yourself. You won't regret it."

"We chose this hotel largely due to the excellent reviews and I can see why they have such good comments. I contacted the hotel in advance and Jesus was kind enough to reply and was most helpful. On arrival at the hotel I could see they had done their best to accommodate our room requests which we really appreciated. We were greeted with drinks on arrival despite the late hour which was a nice touch and as we missed the first dinner of our half board they prepared plates in the room which were very nice and appreciated after a long day. The rooms were very nice and the hotel itself is just beautiful and so peaceful. On a negative note the air con in both our rooms wasn't that good however it wasn't too hot during our stay so we managed with the ceiling fan. They don't have portable fans as a back up so thankfully we had the ceiling fan. We had a few maintenance issues during our stay however the staff were helpful in trying to resolve this. The hotel itself is very quiet which was perfect for us, the rooms themselves not that soundproof so we were grateful for this as most guests at this hotel seem to be there to enjoy peace and quiet, no party crowds or rowdiness. The bathroom was beautiful, large and even had a bidet. The shower was hot and powerful with a lovely bath which sadly I did not get chance to use. The room decor was very colonial which we loved and the rooms were fairly spacious. They also had a door separating the bedroom from the corridors which really helps block out external noise, such a good feature for a hotel room to have. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room, a fridge and a safe so all very useful to have. No iron provided in the room as I would expect from a hotel like this but we managed. Breakfast each day was nice, most of the staff were pleasant and the sparkling wine with breakfast was a nice touch. The room had water (still and sparkling) on arrival which is very nice to arrive to but this was not topped up daily which I would expect from a hotel of this standard especially as there weren't really any supermarkets for about a 20 minute walk away. Wi-fi was good but was intermittent at times but nothing that affected our stay. The staff here are lovely, they are the highlight of the hotel. Just to mention a few names Valentina, Teres, Aneta, Silvia, Mulud, Ali, Rafa and Lola were all incredibly welcoming and pleasant. They made such a difference to our stay and the memories we have of our time at this hotel. Thank you to each person who greeted us with a smile and were always pleasant and friendly. The pool is beautiful, usually we avoid pools due to loud music but here all you heard was the sound of the water, the trees and the birds, just bliss. It was generally not crowded and this was part of the appeal. We did have lunch at the hotel but strangely you can't take food by the pool so we ate at the cafe. No big deal but would have been nice to have a pizza by the pool however I understand people ( not us) can be messy so thats likely why. There is a tennis court by the pool so the only irritating noise was sometimes if people were playing, the tennis ball would constantly be hitting the glass which was a bit annoying but it wasn't all day so not too bad. It was nice to be able to dine alfresco for breakfast and dinner, always a relaxing atmosphere at both. The views at this hotel are lovely and the courtyard where you can eat dinner was just perfect. It was a la carte in the evening for half board, buffet for starters and desserts and we loved this, it felt like a special meal every evening as the service and food was fantastic and in such a lovely setting. There is a spa in the hotel but the treatments are very expensive. There is a sauna and jacuzzi which isn't free for guests sadly but 18 euros for an hours private use with bubbles so actually not a bad deal if you drink alcohol. The staff kindly gave us complimentary use of the nearby Sheraton Spa due to the issues we had and this was really appreciated. The spa there is amazing, so glad we took the time to go, it is a top end spa with all the facilities you could wish for including hot beds. It was such a relaxing part of our stay, we loved it. It is adults only at certain times so check that in advance. We chose this hotel as it was adults only as we wanted a quiet holiday and this is exactly what we got. We travel extensively and I have to say this has to be one of the most relaxing hotels we have ever stayed at. We are so glad we chose to stay here and we would all happily return. If you are looking for peaceful times this will be perfect for you but if you are looking for party vibes or lots of entertainment probably not. I honestly would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing get away. The beach is accessible by free hotel shuttle in the mornings and you can walk back or take a short taxi. This hotel is a little isolated but you can reach the nearby mall/supermarket in about a 20 minute walk and it felt very safe. Thank you for such an incredible holiday, we appreciated all your efforts to make our stay so wonderful, we returned with fantastic memories of such a relaxing stay and a really nice time in Fuerteventura."
