"Just returned from Estval park, I have given it 4* but my own personal experience I give it 3*. We arrived at the hotel reception and was impressed, very clean and posh. We were given a apartment in the 9,000s just down the road. It is strange, about 2/3 of apartments are private, same in the rest of the area. The whole area is enormous, there are 2 hotels and large number of apartments but because they are mainly 3 to 4 floors it is not overwhelming, there are 3 pools and plenty sunbeds, but it was May! We went to our apartment 2nd floor, nice apartment, 1 bedroom nice room kitchen with oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and filter coffee maker, along with plates pans etc. we opened the curtains to see a tree with a road behind it, but as there is a pool and lots of sunbeds it was fine, the room did not have a kettle? so I went to reception, he got a list out, to "rent a kettle, 23 euro for 10 days! they fit a washing machine, but no kettle? I said no I will boil a pan of water. I did rent the safe, 10 euro deposit returned when you take the key back. We woke up the next morning to very noisy drilling from the room above us, (3rd floor), by day 3 of banging, drilling and hammering from 8am to 10pm, I went to reception to complain, the receptionist said illegal for major repairs between April and September, but they did not stop it, in fact there were 4 refurbishments going on! so we were moved to ground floor outlook at the pool, very nice, but we could still hear the drilling despite being 3 floors below.
The outside walls needed cleaning and painting. I had a shower when I got out, the bathroom was flooded, the ceiling, floor walls, towels wet through, when I checked water was coming from the top of the shower head so spurted all over the room, there is a smaller shower head so I could still shower, the bedside light was flickering and buzzing from the switch, next morning the floor was covered with ants, I again went to reception, I spoke the a English guy at reception, (useless), he told us he would report it immediately, he did not, the maid came 2 hours later, she knew nothing about the ants, but she did spay and clean up, the shower and light did not get repaired. There are 2 restaurants, 1 enormous for breakfast, lunch, and evening meal, the smaller restaurant is breakfast and evening meal. If you want hot food, I am afraid the best you can hope for is "warm", although there was a good selection of food, I even has to take boiling water for my tea as the water from the machine is not hot enough. We ordered a taxi with the English guy, to airport, he never ordered it!
Then whole hotel and surrounding area was spotless. The biggest problem was the old Spanish, they had no manners, they would push in at the front of the food queue, (not me), they would stand talking in front of counters, I literally had to push them out of the way to get to the food as they would not move! walking outside they would walk 4 or 5 wide and would not move to allow people to pass! Would I go back, yes!"
