"An Honest Review – From Two People in Travel
I wanted to write a genuinely honest review from the perspective of two people who work in travel, travelling with a group aged between 19 and 24. Hopefully, this gives a balanced view of the hotel and helps people make up their own minds.
📍 Location
The hotel is around a 15-minute walk into Lloret, and it’s a really nice walk. We went into town a few times, but we were also more than happy just chilling at the hotel. The younger ones in our group went down to the strip a few nights, and yes — it was wild!
🏨 Check-in
Check-in was very slow, especially after travelling. This is definitely something I think the hotel needs to look at.
🛏️ Room
We had a Grand Suite, which was absolutely massive. I did expect the balcony to be wider. It was a wraparound balcony but wasn’t particularly deep, and it also had a bit of a slope.
The room itself was clean, although there are definitely areas that need a little TLC. There was some peeling paint in the bathroom, and the door frame had been damaged by water from the shower.
Overall, though, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the pillows were good and the sea view was lovely.
We did have an issue with the air conditioning in the bedroom. We reported it several times and were offered another room, but honestly, I didn’t want to pack everything up and move. The staff were great and eventually got it fixed. I did have to keep asking, but it was eventually sorted.
🍹 Premium All-Inclusive – Is It Worth It?
This is where I’m still not completely sure.
We paid extra for Premium All-Inclusive, but nobody seemed to know exactly what was included. We asked about the ice creams and were initially told we could have a small pot. When we questioned this and said, “But we’re Premium,” we were then told we could have one of the ice creams from the board once a day.
We also had access to the à la carte restaurant, but this was only open at lunchtime. I was quite surprised it wasn’t available in the evening, as that would have been much more appealing. We did enjoy the food and the service there.
Premium drinks were included, although I think everyone may have had access to these anyway.
We also received one free spa entrance, which we used, although unfortunately the steam room was closed.
The minibar was supposed to be available every day, but I had to ask for it to be refilled almost every day.
For me, the Premium package just isn’t very well thought through, and there needs to be much clearer information about exactly what you’re paying extra for.
🍽️ Food
I’ve read reviews saying the food is the same every day, and honestly, that wasn’t our experience at all.
Breakfast had lots of choice and was never too busy when we went.
Lunch was also good, with plenty of choice, lovely salads and a good selection of hot food.
At dinner, we always found something we enjoyed. There was something different from lunch and from the night before. There weren’t themed nights, but personally, that wasn’t a problem for us.
As a group of six, we all found something we liked and enjoyed the food.
👩🍳 Staff & Service
Getting a drink could sometimes be slow, particularly when the staff were making cocktails. If they had run out of something, there were occasions where they simply told you that you couldn’t have it rather than going to get more.
I did complain about this, and the staff dealt with it straight away, so credit where it’s due.
Yes, sometimes you could be waiting a while for a drink, but for me, that isn’t something that would ruin a holiday.
The majority of the staff were lovely, and some were genuinely fantastic. Like anywhere, you’ll get some staff who are better than others.
One lovely thing happened with my daughter’s teddy. The cleaners accidentally took it when changing the bedding. It was quite special to her, and we thought we were going to leave without it. Thankfully, the hotel found it and posted it back to us.
That was fantastic service — thank you so much! ❤️
🇪🇸 Spanish Time – Chill Time
The pool was lovely for the first eight days, but then we started noticing some black stuff appearing in the water.
We also noticed a man repeatedly spitting in the pool, which was absolutely disgusting. We reported this to the hotel.
☀️ Sunbeds & Cabanas
We had no problem getting a sunbed.
The only thing we weren’t told initially was that by having a hand towel, we could get a cabana. We found this out on the second day, and after that we had a cabana every day, which was great.
💆♀️ Spa
We went for a massage, which was very good and something we really enjoyed.
However, I was disappointed that we weren’t told beforehand that the steam room was out of order. If something is included as part of your package, I think guests should be made aware if part of the facility isn’t available.
🔊 Noise
We didn’t experience any problems with noise at all, despite being opposite the Clipper Hotel.
⭐ Overall
I do think there are a lot of reviews on here that should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt. Some reviews seem extremely harsh, so I would always recommend looking at the reviewer’s profile and seeing when they joined and what else they have reviewed.
So, would I recommend the hotel?
Is it a nice hotel? YES.
Is it 4-star-plus? YES, I think so. I can understand why it isn’t rated 5-star, but I think 4-star-plus is fair.
Are some of the reviews harsh? YES. Take some of them with a pinch of salt.
Are the staff rude? Some can be, yes, but others are absolutely lovely. I think you get that everywhere.
Is the food good? YES. All six of us found plenty to eat and enjoyed it.
Did we hear noise? NO.
Would we go again? YES.
Did we enjoy our holiday? Very much so!
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel isn’t perfect and there are definitely areas that could be improved, particularly the Premium package, check-in and some aspects of service. But would those things stop me returning? Absolutely not.
I hope this helps anyone considering the hotel and gives a more balanced picture than some of the reviews I’ve read. ❤️"
