"A true favorite. The Luze Boutique San Sebastián is a rare place, where everything seems to have been thought out to offer a break outside of time. The location on Mount Igeldo is exceptional, with this incredible sensation of being suspended between nature, the sky, and the sea. The hotel has a lot of elegance, but it is above all the quality of the welcome and the attention paid to details that make the difference. You immediately feel good there, in an atmosphere that is at once refined, warm, and deeply soothing. Very high-end spa. elegant and very well-maintained park. Breakfast of truly excellent quality. "I wouldn’t recommend staying here with kids. The hotel isn’t particularly family-friendly, and dining with children was a real challenge. There are no casual food options or kids’ menus, and as the hotel isn’t close to town, you’re reliant on driving or taking the bus if you want alternatives. Our room was clean and quiet, but overall the hotel fell short in several areas. Some parts feel beautifully new, while others — particularly the balcony — feel old and worn. The views, however, are lovely. Breakfast was excellent, but expensive, and it’s served in a dark lower-ground room with no natural light. There also seemed to be some communication issues between different areas of the hotel. We were initially told that the kitchen could prepare a simple meal for our child, but when it came to ordering, this became quite stressful. To their credit, the restaurant did eventually accommodate us. The reception staff were kind and helpful, and when a party taking place above our room became an issue, the hotel dealt with it and apologised. The biggest issue for us was the lack of a genuinely casual dining option. With a Michelin-starred restaurant already on site, guests still need somewhere relaxed and straightforward to eat — especially families. Even the pool snacks seemed overly elaborate rather than simple, casual options. I had higher hopes for this hotel, particularly given the beautiful setting and views, but overall it didn’t deliver the experience we were expecting."
