"Al Masa Ruined My Wedding – Shocking Disrespect, Grossly Unsanitary Rooms, and Broken Promises for 200 Guests
I am writing this review to strongly warn anyone considering Al Masa for a wedding, special event, or hotel stay to stay far away. What was supposed to be the biggest and most memorable night of my life turned into a stressful, deeply embarrassing disaster. We hosted our wedding for 200 guests, including over 70 international guests who traveled all the way from Europe. Expecting professional hospitality, we were instead met with incompetent management, disgusting room conditions, and unbelievable disrespect. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Here is a detailed breakdown of what happened:
1. Disgusting Room Conditions & Broken Upgrade Promises
The hotel accommodation was a complete nightmare for our European guests:
* Severe Hygiene Issues: Guests found blood on their bedsheets. This is a shocking and unacceptable breach of basic hygiene standards.
* Misleading Photos & Downgrades: The rooms looked nothing like the photos online. Furthermore, guests who were explicitly promised room upgrades were actually downgraded into inferior rooms that smelled awful.
2. The Early Check-In Lie & Mockery by Staff (Groom & 13 Groomsmen)
As the groom, I met with Ahmad from Event Planning the day before the wedding. He explicitly promised us early check-in so that myself and my 13 groomsmen (15 people in total) could check into rooms next to each other and get ready at 11:00 AM.
* When we arrived at 11:00 AM, reception informed us that early check-in was impossible and only 1 room was available. Fortunately, a friend had checked in the day before, giving us access to 2 rooms in total.
* When we were forced to squeeze 15 guys into 2 rooms to get ready for my wedding, staff member Shahenda Mahmoud actually laughed at us. When we confronted her and asked why she was laughing, she replied: "I am laughing because you are 15 guys having to get ready in only 2 rooms."
* When we confronted Ahmad from Event Planning about his broken promise, he completely denied responsibility and washed his hands of the entire situation.
3. Severe Hall Delay (Unprepared for 200 Guests)
We explicitly agreed that the hall would be fully prepared and finished by 4:00 PM at the absolute latest. However, by 6:00 PM, the venue was still not ready. Having our guests arrive and invited for 5:00 PM the staff was still unprepared was deeply embarrassing for us as hosts and caused unnecessary chaos and a very Awkward Scene
4. Photobooth Delay and Absurd Excuses
The photobooth was missing when the event began. When questioned, management tried to claim the photobooth was scheduled to arrive after the event started—a completely illogical excuse, as photobooths are meant to capture guests as they arrive. It was a clear attempt to cover up their own setup delay.
5. Total Denial and Refusal of Accountability
When we raised these severe issues with on-site management (including Ahmed), we were met with complete hostility. Instead of apologizing or offering fair compensation for ruining key parts of our wedding experience, they denied all mistakes and flatly stated that "everything agreed upon was done."
Conclusion & Final Thoughts
I am deeply heartbroken that I chose Al Masa to host my wedding. Instead of enjoying the happiest days after what should have been the greatest night of my life, I am now spending my days constantly apologizing to my guests and dealing with grief over how everything turned out. Al Masa completely ruined my wedding night.
Save yourself the pain, embarrassment, and heartbreak—do not trust Al Masa with your wedding, stay, or money."
