"Check-In – 9/10
Check-in was quick and straightforward. I didn’t have to wait long before being shown to my room, and the staff helped with my bags. I also liked that I was given a choice of room location, either on the ground floor near the pool or on an upper floor with a balcony. I chose the balcony room and was glad I did.
Food
Breakfast and dinner were served buffet-style, while lunch was made to order. Lunch options included pizzas where you could choose your own toppings, as well as hot dogs. As Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country, there was no pork available. One feature I particularly enjoyed was the self-service ice cream machine, with flavours changing every couple of days.
Drinks
I don’t drink alcohol, so I can’t comment on that aspect. However, I found the juices refreshing and appreciated that they weren’t overly sweet, which can often be the case at all-inclusive resorts.
Rooms
The rooms are quite dated and have a traditional European feel, but they were comfortable and, most importantly, had excellent air conditioning. As someone who struggles to sleep when it’s too warm, this made a big difference. Housekeeping was excellent, with fresh towels and bed linen changed daily. I also enjoyed the creative towel animals left by the cleaning team.
Solo Female Traveller Perspective
For context, I am a Black woman from Brighton, UK, so experiences may vary. Overall, I encountered very little hassle compared to stories I’ve heard from some of my white friends who have visited Egypt in the past. I also dress fairly conservatively by UK standards as a Christian, but I did notice some looks when wearing a one-piece swimsuit during a day by the pool.
I received polite service throughout my stay and always felt safe leaving and returning to the hotel. However, I did notice that poolside service was somewhat limited. Unlike other guests, I wasn’t offered towels at the pool or asked whether I would like drinks refreshed, though staff remained courteous at all times.
Facilities
The pool was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of my stay. There was a large main pool alongside a much shallower pool. The breakfast area had a cafeteria-style setup, while dinner was served poolside and lunch was available at the opposite end of the pool area.
The lobby was a lovely place to relax, socialise, or simply watch the world go by. The entertainment team worked hard to keep guests engaged, organising activities ranging from pool volleyball to giant draughts-style games near the outdoor bar.
Overall Experience – 7/10
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would rate the hotel 7/10. My main criticism is that many of the extras felt expensive when compared with local prices. Coming from a multicultural city like Brighton, many of the services on offer are available at home for less. For example, I can get a massage in Brighton for around £30, so I personally wouldn’t travel abroad to pay more than that.
That said, the hotel was clean, safe, comfortable, and had excellent facilities. If you’re looking for a relaxing poolside holiday in a secure environment, it’s certainly worth considering.
