"More Than Just a Hotel – Or: Why We Keep Coming Back
Normally, we write reviews about rooms, food, or location. This time, that’s surprisingly difficult, because what we will remember most are the people.
From the moment we arrived, Mohamed Salah welcomed us with a warm smile and even made sure that we could stay in our favorite room, 7001, once again. It was the perfect start to our holiday, and we truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Thank you!
Within minutes, we felt as if we had come home. Mahmoud from the Regency Club was informed that we had arrived, and Alaa immediately recognized us as well. Of course, it was wonderful to see familiar faces again, but after a short time we started asking ourselves: Are we being treated in a special way, or is every guest welcomed like this?
The longer we stayed, the clearer the answer became.
Whether in the Regency Club, at the beach bars, in the restaurants, by housekeeping or even in the gardens, we were surrounded by genuine kindness and hospitality.
Mahmoud, the lifeguard at the pool, kindly told us not to fetch our own drinks anymore: “That’s our job.” Together with Ahmed, he made sure every day that we could simply relax and enjoy our vacation.
At the Club Beach Bar, Mostafa often had our favorite drinks ready before we even ordered them. His excellent English and genuine interest in his guests led to many enjoyable conversations about Egypt, travel, and everyday life.
At the Main Beach Bar, Saleh—whom we affectionately call “Mama” because he always takes such good care of us—made sure every wish was fulfilled. Whether it was finding a shady place, arranging a restaurant reservation, or simply sharing a laugh, nothing was ever too much for him. He even surprised us with small gifts and arranged a special off-menu dinner for my birthday.
The culinary experience was outstanding throughout our stay. Kareem welcomed us warmly at the Indian restaurant, where our table was already prepared. At the Thai restaurant, the team surprised us with a beautifully presented birthday dessert even one day after my birthday. We especially enjoyed seeing how happy the chefs were when we personally thanked them for their excellent food.
Our room was spotless every single day. Creative towel art, plenty of bottled water and coffee, and the attention of the housekeeping team made us feel completely at home.
One of the most unforgettable moments of our holiday was my birthday. At breakfast, we were welcomed to a beautifully decorated table with flowers, sweets, and a large “Happy Birthday” sign. Mahmoud, Alaa, and the Regency Club team surprised us with a birthday song and a wonderful cake. Their joy was so contagious that other guests started applauding and congratulating us as well. Since two people simply cannot finish such a large cake, we happily shared it with the staff—a moment filled with laughter and genuine hospitality that we will never forget.
While we were enjoying breakfast, Mahmoud had already decorated our favorite sunbeds at the pool with balloons and lovely decorations. Together with Ahmed and other colleagues, they created another wonderful surprise that made this special day even more memorable. Mostafa also came by to congratulate us and made us feel like welcome friends rather than hotel guests.
In the evening, Saleh had prepared a beautiful table for us and even arranged a special meal that was not on the menu. Later that night, under the stars, a spontaneous Viennese waltz brought several guests onto the dance floor, creating one of those magical holiday moments you never forget.
Years ago, we spent hours snorkeling at the house reef. Today, we jokingly enjoy “beach bar hopping” with the same enthusiasm—and this resort is perfect for both.
Of course, the hotel grounds, beach, rooms, and restaurants are excellent. But on the flight home, those are not the things we talk about.
Instead, we remember Mohamed Salah, Mahmoud, Mostafa, Ahmed, Kareem, Alaa, Saleh, and many other wonderful people who transformed a beautiful hotel into a place where we truly felt welcome.
At first, we thought this exceptional attention was reserved for returning guests. The longer we observed, the more we realized that this hospitality is simply part of the hotel's culture and is shared with every guest.
For us, Park Regency Sharm El Sheikh is much more than just a hotel. It is a place full of genuine human warmth, unforgettable encounters, and memories that will stay with us for a long time. That is exactly why we are already looking forward to coming back."
