"We have just arrived home from a wonderful 11 nights in Sentido reef oasis resort.
We are a family of four with two children (7 & 15) and we travelled with our friends with their two children ( 9 & almost 2).
I will start by saying British people are in a minority here, this did not particularly bother us but it may bother some people.
Firstly our rooms, we emailed the hotel in advance to request rooms close together and on the ground floor if possible, our wish was granted and our rooms were right in the hub of the hotel close to reception and the three pools outside it. Our rooms were clean but dated and could do with an uplift, but they did the job and our cleaner Gamil was wonderful, always around if we needed anything and left our rooms lovely with fresh water and towels as needed, he was very friendly and always happy to see us.
Our first day we had breakfast at Mo's which is for Sentido guests only, this means it's quieter than the other returants and easier to get a table for a large group. The waiting staff in Mo's are all lovely, very friendly and attentive although they are extremely busy, you can see how hard they work. We did feel that if there was a fridge to help yourself to water or a drinks station for juices and coffee it would take the pressure off and allow you to get a drink a little quicker. The food was always excellent, a good variety of hot and cold foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only thing we felt could have made it better was a bit more of a kids section, but this is likely due to us having two fussy girls in our party!
Stand out team member at Mo's is definitely Ramy, always going out of his way to find us a table and get us water and drinks, helping bring food to the table for our youngest party member, who he made a huge fuss over and led to him shouting hiya for Ramy every time we went to Mo's!
The reception bar (blue bar) is always well staffed and the men working there are always extremely friendly and welcoming, they are always happy to make you a drink and bring it to your table or even our balcony when we went back earlier to put the kids to bed. Mohammed, was absolutely amazing with us, so friendly, polite and could not do enough for us us. When we were at the pools near to the blue bar we never went without water or drinks. He was such a lovely man and we can't thank him enough for making us feel special during our stay. ❤️
The other main bar down by the live music at night can get very busy, and you can struggle to find a seat, I can see why the chairs don't have cushions during the day because of wet swimwear but I wish they put cushions out at night because if you cannot find one of the comfy chairs you're left on a hard rattan type chair with holes in and it is not comfortable to sit in! We also had a standout member of the team down at this bar, Ahmed made sure we never went without a welcome or a drink and he always made sure we had a seat, one night fetching us a table and chairs out of nowhere! He really looked after us the entire time, making sure we didn't want for a drink or a seat for the football that was on whilst we were away. He is an absolute credit to this hotel!
As a Sentido guest you can go in any of the many pools and we did them all other than the adult only some we had completely to ourselves, whilst others were busier often with other nationalities treating them like private pools playing their own music extremely loud, this didn't bother us too much as we just moved on, but it may bother some people! Beshoy working at the swim up bar pool down but the beach is absolutely wasted at this pool, he should be in one of the main areas, he was so entertaining and absolutely fantastic with the children! We would have spent more time at his bar had he been somewhere less crowded and more towards the main part of the hotel.
The beach can get really busy, but as a Sentido guest you do have your own private area, but again this does get busy. The beach bar is excellent and the snorkeling is beautiful! The restaurant down by the beach (the citadel) is nice but extremely busy, you can be waiting a long time for a drink of water, we often wished they would just bring a bottle or two of water over as we were a party of 8 and a small glass of water doesn't last long when it is very hot! The bus that takes you to the beach is regular and fine, we were all happy to walk but it's there for those who need it.
The al la carte restaurants are nice, the grill doesn't have a children's menu which meant we needed to fetch things from the main restaurant for the kids, the Italian was very good with excellent service and food but the stand out one for us was the Indian one, stunning location looking out to sea, attentive staff and absolutely excellent food! If we could have gone again we would.
The aqua park is a little tatty with slides and a pool being out of action, it could really do with having some time invested in getting it sorted as it really is an excellent facility, the slides that were open were very good, although the big yellow one is not busy, and I think this is due to having to run over the burning floor to go back for your shoes having been on it. The splash zone for littler kids is fab.
One thing we did miss from the usual all inclusive was the 'main activity' area, aqua gym, entertainment, kids club etc, we didn't see anyone like this! The men of the group would have liked to get involved in the usual holiday things, darts, water polo etc.
Overall we had a wonderful stay, made better by a few stand out team members.
Thank you to gamil, beshoy, Remy, mohammed and Ahmed for making our big party feel looked after and welcome."
