JAZ Mirabel Park and Club

"Excellent facilities and in a great location. The room was a little tired and could do with an upgrade but it didn’t affect our holiday. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and we were really looked after by Mohammed Yhya he was extremely efficient and good at his job. There are plenty of sun beds both around the pools and beach we never struggled to find one. There are plenty of large swimming pools and an area with water slides which the kids loved. There is a long jetty off the beach as well which takes you out to the feed - great for Snorkelling. The staff around the complex are really welcoming and a big thank you to our house keeping member of staff Reda, he was very attentive and was efficient at getting us anything we were short of. The hotel is well connected to Jaz Mirabel Beach resort you go through this to get to the beach and we used a lot of the facilities there as well, it also connects to a shopping mall which is handy. Plenty of other shops across the road and a short taxi ride to restaurants such as Hard Rock Cafe. It’s very close to ten airport and is very handy for the trips. I would recommend the snorkelling boat trip and desert safari is so much fun. We also booked a trip to the pyramids which was a. great experience but be prepared for a very long day. Overall experience I would definitely recommend this hotel"

"We recently stayed at Jaz Mirabel Park and Club and overall had a pleasant experience, though there were a few areas that could be improved. The resort itself whilst huge (it took about 10 minutes to walk to the beach) is set in beautifully landscaped grounds, which are immaculately maintained and create a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to unwind, with plenty of space to explore and relax. There is also an impressive range of facilities for those wanting to be active. Even though the hotel was full, it never felt overrun (apart from peak mealtimes) but it was wise to put a towel out on a sunbed in the morning! Wwe snorkelled every day and one of use did their advanced padi course. We spoke to other guests that did sand buggying and all sorts of other activities - there if you want it. The rooms are clean and functional but are quite dated and could benefit from refurbishment. The air conditioning worked well in both of our rooms but was very noisy in one. The mini bar wasn’t included, which felt a bit stingy given the overall standard the resort is aiming for but plenty of bottled water was provided – we didn’t notice any strange taste as mentioned by some. Beds were big and comfy enough, shower was old but worked well. One of the most memorable experiences was visiting the reef off the jetty. It was absolutely stunning – full of vibrant marine life and very well managed by lifeguards who ensured everyone’s safety while allowing us to enjoy the natural beauty. It’s a must-do if you’re staying at the resort. The entertainment team was fantastic, full of energy and enthusiasm. They worked hard to involve guests in activities throughout the day but also backed off when they knew people did not want to get involved. There are attempts to sell services to guests around the pool but this is generally soft and often done with a lot of charm. A couple of us went to the spa and enjoyed our treatments, it's a very professional spa and even though they try and upsell it's all done very nicely. Ask for the Thai therapists if you can. We did feel however that the resort was badly let down by the food and beverage outlets. The main buffet restaurant lacked atmosphere and felt more like a school canteen. While the food was decent, it became repetitive after a few days with none of the usual theme nights you get in other resorts. It was often hard to find a table to sit at and when you did, cutlery and napkins were frequently missing and guests were resorting to getting their own drinks as service was non-existent. I lost count of the amount of times plates and glasses were removed from our table before they were finished with. On one occasion we lost our table completely having gone to get our maim course! I wouldn't say it was that there were bad staff, just that perhaps they lacked training and just a symptom of the number of guests being accommodated at the same time. All of these issues were repeated and amplified at the food court by the pools that served lunch. It is quite clearly not big enough and the staff lost control on more than one occasion. You would order as a family and the meals would come at different times, on one occasion, we ordered pizza and ended up with three. I saw another table be served the same salad three times, but none of the other meals they had ordered. It was quite a frustrating experience. I would balance this by saying that a particular highlight of our stay was dining at Sofra, the à la carte restatrant. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the ambiance far more refined than the main buffet area—it felt like a real treat. A couple of tips - avoid going to main restaurant at 7pm and avoid lunch at 1pm to avoid the worst of the chaos. Getting a drink is also difficult. There is no poolside lounger service and getting a drink at night involved queuing at one of the bars (often five deep). Lots of staff running around collecting glasses but not enough serving and none waiting tables. Evening entertainment was good, nice singers etc. We did enjoy going for a drink after dinner - the main bar is along a terrace and it was a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the cocktails too. Service generally across the resort was inconsistent – some staff were excellent, while others seemed disengaged, some were even rude. I'm not sure if this is just the culture there or again, a lack of training or perhaps they aren't paid very well. Special recognition to some of the good ones; Hassan at the reception bar; Osama in the main restaurant and Mohamed at the Oasis beach bar - he was brilliant. Overall we enjoyed our stay but probably would only return to the Jaz Mirabel Beach which is based on the same site but did not seem to have all the same issues, at least not when we walked past. The dining seemed much calmer there. Lastly it's a shame but we all got "Egyptian belly" despite trying to be careful with ice cubes etc."

"We went on vacation at the beginning of October at Jaz Mirabele Park. The hotel is in a windy bay, it's good in October that the wind is refreshing, it's not so hot, but it won't be good to relax there in the winter, it will be very windy and cold. The rooms are already asking for repair, the blackout curtains were torn, I had thread and a needle so I sewed them myself because they interfered with sleeping. Those curtains are thin and the sun is already shining in the room in the morning. It takes 10-12 minutes to walk to the beach at a normal pace, which is a lot. And not on a straight path, but on stairs and hills., there is no transport. Tre sea is receding, there is a large shoal, there are no corals. The food is not bad, only the water bottles are very heavy, they are glass, so they could be smaller. I don't know if it was because of the water or the food that my husband sat on the toilet for 3 nights and days. Although we have been to Egypt 8 times, this only happened in this hotel. The price does not match the quality at all. I chose a Jaz chain hotel because of the good food, but we were disappointed. I would not come back again."
