"Me, my husband and 2 stepsons came here to celebrate my youngest stepsons 18th birthday. . From the outside the hotel appears grand and well maintained especially the gardens, the reception area is very modern and nicely decorated. Check in was a fast and easy process and all the staff at the desk were very polite and friendly. We didn’t need to take our cases up to our room and the concierge staff brought them up for us. We had booked a room with a garden view and a room with a pool view and asked for them to be close together, to our delight we were provided with two rooms with a pool view and an interconnecting door that came in really handy!
The room had everything you needed, although they definitely need a revamp. There were two double beds in each room which were surprisingly comfortable! Tea and coffee is replenished daily, toiletries are replenished daily and 2 large bottles of water are left in your room/ outside your room daily if you choose not to have it cleaned. Just a few points to mention about the room …. The shower was unfortunately one of the worst I have ever had on holiday, the smell of drainage was terrible, the water pressure wasn’t great and the drainage was shocking. We had a shower cubicle but my stepsons had a shower over the bath… it took days upon days for the water to go. The room had a lack of plug sockets, my husband has sleep apnoea, luckily we always take an extension lead with us but in order to use this we had to unplug the telephone in the room. A safe was provided in the room free of charge, it worked in one room but not the other and was probably the smallest safe I have ever seen, if you have anything bigger than a phone to put in you will need to store it in your case unfortunately. Just to note that the balcony door is not sound proof either. The key cards to enter your room can intermittently work as they are quite old fashioned so the interconnecting room was a godsend as we often struggled to get into one of the rooms, even the cleaner struggled with it. The wardrobe space is ample, as usual with abroad there was a lack of hangars but plenty of space to put your clothes, unfortunately the wardrobe sliding doors in our room were broken so it made it difficult to utilise this properly.
Moving on to the main plus of the hotel… the food. It is probably one of the best food quality we have had at an all inclusive. There was always plenty of choice, all the food was thoroughly cooked, all show cooking took place outside and we never struggled for anything to eat. There was a choice of kebabs, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, chips and much more. We never went hungry or struggled to find a table. Scoop ice cream was available every day at both lunch and dinner and whippy ice cream was available at selected times during the day at the main pool bar/ beach bar.
We ate at the Italian à la carte during our stay and that was stunning! Again, one of the better à la cartes we have been to. Highly recommend giving it a go.
Drinks- We aren’t big drinkers so the choice was ample for us but if you are a drinker, you may be disappointed here. Everything is out of a bottle, nothing on draught. Soft drinks are served from a bottle and are often warm and it is the usual plastic cups with the usual cracks in, if you want to take a drink to your room they provide you with a tiny coffee cup full so for ease we bought a bottle from the shop and put it in the mini fridge in our room. You could buy your own large tumblers though and they will happily fill them up. A plus point with the drinks though is the fact that they serve slush puppies at the beach bar and you can get proper lattes. Just a tip though if you want a latte at breakfast fill half a cup with milk as the machine needs topping up with milk and never was whilst we were there.
Bars - There’s plenty of choice of bars available as part of the all inclusive. There is a sports bar inside the hotel, there was never anyone sat in it because it’s chargeable and serves the same drinks you can get on the all inclusive. There is also a disco but not sure if it’s ever open or whether it was due to the time of year - this had a pool table inside… shame we couldn’t use it and doesn’t make sense to have it in a disco, would make much more sense to move it to the reception / foyer / bar area.
Swimming pools- We never struggled for a sun bed and the pools seem to be well maintained, the pool nearer the restaurant seems a lot colder than the one further down, although it is advertised as heated.. it isn’t. When you check in you get towel cards so you can get fresh towels daily, the staff will also lay them out for you… all for a price of course.
The beach is beautiful and definitely worth a visit, there is a beach bar down there as well where you can use your all inclusive.
WiFi - worked great in our room and wasn’t too bad in reception. You can use the WiFi at the pool nearer the restaurant but it can be intermittent, anywhere further down and you won’t get access.
There is a shop within the hotel, it is more expensive than the ones outside. If you can be bothered save yourself some money as it’s not even a 5 minute walk.
All in all it’s a reasonable hotel… it definitely isn’t a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star plus. All staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you and we were well looked after whilst we were there. We didn’t do any of the entertainment but there seemed to be plenty ongoing, at other resorts if you don’t want to be approached by the entertainment team, they will often provide flags so that staff know, here they will keep approaching you to take part and don’t really like the word no. If you want a more relaxed stay go to the pool in the middle, the quiet pool, you won’t get hassled there.
We did book a speedboat ride whilst we stayed here from a lovely man named Mokhtar, he was not pushy at all and explained everything really well. He really is a credit to the excursion company and deserves a pay rise!
We would definitely return to Sharm at some point in the future but would likely choose another hotel next time, for the price though it wasn’t too bad!"
