"Just returned after 11 nights as a British family of 4, with 2 older teenagers. Hotel is beautiful, grounds are well kept, the layout, room verandahs are much nicer than a balcony on a 5th floor hotel block. The hotel staff are all top notch and work so hard. Huge shout out to many including Fares who looked after our rooms, Ahmed who made lovely cocktails at Flambe bar, Mohammed the nicest waiter amongst many at Alfresco but the biggest thank you goes to Mahmout (el wadi chef) and Walit (Alfresco chef) who made our stay the best catering for GF dietary requirements and allergies.
My review will be of both Fayrouz and Dreams. Firstly the negatives:
The food, looks lovely but there is not a lot catered for the British palette or much vegetarian choice.
Dreams is bigger so has more choice but we ate there one evening and carnage and chaos were my only words to describe the experience. Its the guests that make this not the hotel, rude, pushing no manners. Meals at Fayrouz were calm, civilised and a much nicer experience just less choice as smaller hotel.
2nd negative, lack of transparency re being able to use bars at sister hotel. As an Easyjet customer we were advised we could use bars and food at dreams when booking Fayrouz, on arrival we were told soft drinks only. Now the evening entertainment is at dreams! So was I to walk back to my hotel for every drink. This was sorted by the hotel manager after a few days but you shouldn't have to complain to get this!
Positives
The pools at Farouz are beautiful, quiet and best part you can always get a bed! But for us, with teens, dreams main pool was much nicer, with balinese beds, music, activities etc so we ventured over to this pool most days. Even going over 10.30am and could still get beds, no early wake ups to reserve was lush.
Alfresco beach bar & Italian
By far the best place to eat, the staff and food here are amazing 👏 tip. Pasta station, ask for a dish to be made, the carbonara is delish
Beach
Could always get a bed
Amazing coral reefs even at knee height so snorkeling was brilliant
Lots of activities going on you just need to read the boards and hunt them down if you want to get involved
Location
5 min walk to centre of Naama bay, lovely beachfront walk
Quick 15 mins taxi to soho square or el fanar, so a really good central place to stay.
Entertainment
Nothing much on at Fayrouz, evening entertainment is over at Caribe bar at Dreams and is a great area, with small activities for younger children, a pool table that was 3euro for a hr. Acts we saw were mainly singers, i seen karaoke and some carpet spinner lol, these could be better. For older ones the reps took them to the nightclubs from 11.30pm to 3am in Naama bay.
Other
We booked scuba diving with sharm divers within the hotel, Mokka was super helpful, the trip was amazing and Remy the instructor and his brother were great, defo recommend using these to book.
Overall id give a 4.5 star, I can't give 5 as until we sorted the food situation out and the drinks across both hotels, this would have been a very different review but as that was sorted all in, we had a great holiday, the only gripe from the teens was there wasn't alot of British at the hotels (to make friends) which surprised me as on easyjet website but we were in the minority. So if this is important to you or your children Id take it into consideration.
Thanks to the hotel staff for a lovely holiday 😀"
