"We went for a week on the last week of October. The reviews looked good apart from the food. So went with an open mind.
The hotel was lovely on the outside on arrival. The reception area was clean and very pleasant looking there was someone playing a piano in the reception. The staff who checked us in were professional and smart. We were told our room was number 78 in the annex. Was given a map to find it, without the map we would never have found it, the hotel looks enormous. Thankfully, my husband had a great sense of direction. We passed the restaurant and a swimming pool and a tennis court on our way to our room. On arrival in our room it looked really nice very spacious. We had twin beds a massive bathroom and really nice lounge area with kitchen and a balcony. If you get a room 78 please be aware that when you open the door to the balcony it makes the most horrendous screeching sound. It was really warm when we arrived at the Aircon didn’t seem to have much go in it. This was the same throughout the holiday.
we went down to the restaurant( I should say that we were half board) we helped ourselves to food, there was a huge array of different foods (which was like that all week) and we got a Fanta lemonade from the machine and promptly got told off by waitress because apparently you can only drink water if you’re half board which we were totally unaware of, so from that evening we had to pay for our drinks.
I can say that hotel was very nice to look at the pools looks amazing which we didn’t use because they were very busy. It was a very busy hotel. The manager of the restaurant was lovely Man (no idea what his name was) but he always remembered. where we would like to sit(out on the terrace area) There wasn’t much waiting around for food.
Plenty of staff working in the restaurant at all times.
The hotel was very clean except the cleaners didn’t do a great job in our room. They made the bed but didn’t really do anything else. They didn’t really mop any floors which we’d obviously got sand on from the beach. There wasn’t any brooms for me to mop it up either. They didn’t take away empty bottles or even wipe sides down Also a couple of times the bathroom shower flooded as the door didn’t shut properly so we had to use our towels to mop up the floor, they only change the towels when requested, and one of the towels had a great hole in it so that’s a downfall for me, also in the kitchen although you had washing up facilities for plates and cutlery and cups etc there was no drying facilities there was no washing up liquid there wasn’t even a plug for the sink. And I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hotel that didn’t leave you tea and coffee or milk or sugar for your stay, so I think that could be rectified quite easily and quite cheaply. A very short walking distance there is a supermarket which we stocked up on necessary items
But the location of the hotel was lovely. It really was set perfectly, great views and a walk into the town probably takes 20 minutes 25 minutes as the week went on. We found shortcuts but if you want to walk along the sea it probably takes 25 minutes
Back back to the hotel, plenty of areas to go to sit, plenty of sunbeds. There were two different pool areas that I could see. I didn’t really explore everywhere like I should’ve done but I would say I’d go again and I’d recommend it, especially to people with children. There was a little park area and the staff are really good with children where I could see, there was a splash pool area so all in all I would absolutely say yes, I would go back."
