"I chose the hotel for proximity to the Elbphilharmonie (it’s a very easy 10-15 minute walk). It’s modern and deliberately quirky; on the whole this works well (for me). Late night bar appreciated. Good shower, comfy bed. In addition I liked the ‘minibar included’ approach (2 beers, a cola, 2 waters and a small bar of chocolate) plus sauna (which I didn’t use); the breakfast was tasty (especially the coffee and bacon) but overpriced - there are cheaper alternatives nearby, but in house is most convenient. Take your choice. The area is very modern; at first sight I liked it; at second sight it seemed rather shallow but I think I’ll revisit at a different (sunnier) time of year to get a different perspective …."

"The hotel stays true to its ship-inspired theme throughout—from the lobby and restaurant to the common areas and rooms—without feeling overdone. Everything is thoughtfully designed, tasteful, and practical. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are well organized. The reception staff are exceptional. This was my first work trip to Hamburg, I emailed the hotel with several questions and received prompt, helpful responses every time. Communication was easy, as everyone spoke fluent English. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from a large shopping mall, with grocery stores and pharmacies just around the corner. I would definitely return."
