Adina Apartment Hackescher Markt

"As a regular Adina guest we booked this based on regular experience. What a terrible choice! Arrived where they couldn't locate our booking (despite the booking number) and eventually got to our room Firstly we had a third adult and had specifically asked when booking for a double sofa bed, only to find a child's cot for her. Asked about this and told all sofa beds are single anyway and that's all there is. Her bed also had a large piece of toenail in the linens!! The room was like a sauna , the air con didn't work. Asked for fans and told the technician would bring them up. When they didn't we asked and were told the tech had gone home and nobody could access fans. They then suggested we could move rooms. We checked the two options and were firstly surprised to see that the double sofa bed was suddenly available ! The room appears cooler but warmed up horrifically overnight. No service to the room since we arrived, no supplies replaced , no cleaning No care at all. No phones in room (they obviously don't want anyone complaining!) Asked again the morning after about fans. Advised tech would sort while we're out during the day. Get home, our room keys are now not working and told the technician went home with all the fans. Not sure there is even an actual technician) I swear the girl at reception is just plain lazy and says no to everything. Get back into our room and there's a fan? Also discovered only one of the Aircon units in the apartment will work at a time (would have been great to be told that when we complained about the heat Ambient room temp (checked the app) was 24 degrees. Place is dirty, in desperate need of a birthday. Carpets are stained, TV is meant to be a smart TV but won't allow access to streaming services so you're stuck watching German TV (I bought a HDMI cable for my phone to connect) Rooms smell stale and dank and plumbing doesn't drain properly. If you're happy staying somewhere just for the location this one's for you. If you enjoy customer service, clean rooms, and equipment that is maintained well, perhaps look at any other options in Berlin!"

"Excellent customer service before and during our stay. Arranged a birthday surprise for our son for 10 euros and it exceeded our expectation. Ideal location right by train with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Area by train is a little sketchy but hotel safe. Hotel is a good value with kitchenette and having laundry in room makes backpacking Germany easy. Stayed in 2 bedroom which was great and 2 baths made getting ready a breeze. Housekeeping only once during week long stay. Room is a bit tired (carpet showing age, sofa had some stains, shower fixture discolored, dusty) but it worked just fine for our needs and was clean. We’ve found Adina is a reputable brand during our recent visits to Germany."

"I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the one bedroom apartment we had. Very small living/kitchen area and bedroom, although the bathroom was large and had good space for toiletries. Just not much space to spread out with two people traveling for five weeks in Europe. The washing machine was convenient but the dryer did not work well and it took forever to dry clothing. Location is the best though and near TV Tower (can see it from hotel room), Alexanderplanz, and an easy walk to Museum Island, Bradenburg Gate. Many restaurants close by as well. Hotel was very quiet. Finally, only a sauna, no pool. I have stayed at Adina Checkpoint Charlie and that is much more modern and nicer, more room space and a beautiful pool, sauna and fitness facility. Breakfast is fine…. The hotel bar was not open when we were there. Staff is nice and helpful although there was a bit of a language barrier as someone previously mentioned in a review. Would recommend for its location. If location is not a high point on your list, I’d recommend staying at Adina Checkpoint Charlie."
