"Arrived fairly late in the evening (which happened to be my birthday) and was some initial confusion as it seems someone else had been checked in under my name in my initial room in error. Upon realising the error I was immediately offered a glass of Prosecco on the house whilst it was rectified. Was given a room on first floor rather than high floor as I requested but given very sincere apologies and said that if the room was too noisy they would relocate me tomorrow if it really was a problem they would see what they could do later that evening. In reality whilst bass could be heard a little from surrounding clubs as I was really tired anyway each evening it wasn't noisy enough not to be a problem.
The rooms were excellent and in great condition and you could tell really looked after. Beds were supremely comfortable. Everything was spick and span with the bathrooms being very modern and having a very good shower, typical for this generation of Holiday Inn Express Hotels. I didn't use the TV much but it had a very wide range of channels in many different languages. The Balcony was nice to have and the double door arrangement of it kept the noise from outside out.
Breakfast was a highlight, really good in both choice and quality of hot and cold food and drink and some items were varied from day to day. There really was something for everyone to have here and takeaway cups and bags if you needed t head out. Also signs that if you needed anything vegan created etc they are happy to do so on demand Also the staff were very, very attentive, each time something was running low it was topped up straight away and if the breakfast area was busy, empty tables were cleared very quickly to allow them to be turned around. Having the breakfast area overlook the beach with it's balcony was a nice touch even though the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy it on two days.
Every interaction I had with staff here from the reception staff, to the breakfast and housekeeping was first class. A true example of people who cared about every little interaction and detail. I think this was summed up by the fact of when I checked out, when I said the stay was a 10 out of 10 perfect hotel, I was pressed by the front desk agent as to if there really was anything even very small I could suggest they did better, which suggested to me they really do care.
This is the perfect example of everything that is good about the Holiday Inn Express brand executed perfectly. Surely one of the best if not the best HIE in Europe and as someone who typically stays in around 25 nights a year in IHG properties, I've been to many!"
