"Amazing! The first thing to mention is if you read the reviews- you know you are getting a saltwater pool/ no air con and no entertainment. If these things are important then this hotel is not for you. However, we booked fully understanding these elements and absolutely loved it! The hotel is clean and every single member of staff is polite and helpful. The views out to sea from the pool area are gorgeous and the sunsets are just beautiful. There is a roof terrace (floor 4) which not many people use which has lovely views and you can star gaze in peace and quiet. During the day with the breeze in the hot sun it is a beautiful area to sit in. The hotel bar is peaceful and well stocked. There was a vocalist a few evenings each week which was pleasant enough. We had a car so did travel around to make the most of the island. Within a 20 minute drive there are plenty of different beaches and rock pools to explore. We were self catering, there are a number of restaurants and a couple of bars within walking distance. We were a family of 4 and spent an average €80 on our evening meal. The local supermarket is well stocked- fresh bread and croissants/ salad/ snacks. If you have a car there is an Aldi and Lidl not too far away which are cheaper but it all depends on what you want from your holiday. We were happy to make some simple meals in our room. We loved the fact that there were no loud bars/ discos - no crowds. It is a very relaxing place, everyone is very chilled. The pool area isn’t too crowded, the hotel provided floaty toys for the pool which we thought was a nice touch. The local beach is small but again isn’t too crowded. We even had a turtle in the bay for a few hours! We found the hotel to be the perfect base for our holiday. We could visit the busier resorts if we wanted, but also had everything we needed on our doorstep. I just need to finish this off by mentioning the staff again- we have never stayed anywhere where everyone was so lovely- the reception, bar staff, cleaners and life guard. A perfect little gem!"
